Exciting news.
Yesterday, the developper anounced using an updated KI model, which seems to be easier to handle, and posted some "old vs. new" pictures of the model he intends to use.
It's good to hear that the development is back in its tracks after a few setbacks. It's nice to hear that the development process is streamlined - it's an awful lot of work, especially taking into account that Bryn's adventure is essentially a leisure project.
However, I hope that the used KI model is not the final version of Bryn that the developer intends to use.
So far, the game (imo) managed to handle a very delicate balance; Bryn is being coerced into acts she doesn't like, but she reluctantly discovers that she likes it. She doesn't have a ton of sexual experience, such that the dares carry the thrill of the unexplored - in the way a "truth or dare"-game between young adults does. But she is not completely unexperienced, such that the experience might cut too deep and traumatize her.
Her demeanor (a little shy and reluctant, a little inexperienced but curious) and back story (being in school, living with her mother) would fit for a girl being somewhere between 16 and 24. So far, one could easily believe that she was somewhere in her early twenties, but the new model is by far more childlike. And that subtle change would make the game by far more creepy.
Suddenly, it is plausible that Bryn might just be 15 or 16. And that grosses me out. It's not even (just) about the age. Even if the game went out of its way to emphasize that Bryn is of age, it wouldn't matter much.
The fun of the game hinges upon Bryn's emotional maturity.
I would like to see a young adult woman, mature enough to make decisions about her life, struggle and reluctantly discover her exhibitionist kink. I don't want to see a teenage girl making experiences that will traumatize her.
TL;DR: the new Bryn model is too child-like, and it woefully changes the flair of the game.
