I saw similar but for me it has been a little ambiguous what people actually wanted at least based on how polls have been made. For instance, dev mentioned "More Lara Stuff" when talking about the polls. So maybe that explicitly meant more "Tony degrading Lara" stuff and that is how we got here. But to me, "more Lara stuff" doesn't necessarily = "more NTR" and "more NTR" doesn't necessarily = "More Tony." And that isn't even taking into account if we aren't on the NO NTR track.
The only people who have responded when I asked are people like you who feel like there is too much of him which makes me think maybe Tony love is maybe inflated to some degree. So far no on has responded in the affirmative.
I get that people maybe didn't respond because they thought I was picking a fight but I was asking because I had been taking pro-Tony statements I saw as facetious based on my own outlook but started to wonder if they were actually sincere.
I commented on this a while back:My understanding of this is that dev posted polls asking what people wanted more of. Only paid members got to vote, with higher level patrons getting more votes per poll. They overwhelmingly favored Tony/Lara NTR content (mind you it was only about 15-20 actual members that did this), so dev went down that rabbit hole for quite a few updates.
Most other content was left waiting while dev fleshed out that path.
In the interim, most f95 members were not of the same opinion, but you will see many of the patrons here defending their choice, adding fuel to the fire that it became.
Now dev seems to be coming back to some of the other content, and gradually, we may even get away from that huge slab of Tony content (hopefully for a while).
Of course. all the non-ntr path players were/are upset that they had nothing (or very little) to play, for several updates, which also built some resentment towards Tony's character. Especially because it also seems that Tony's fans were egging dev on to include him in the non-ntr scenarios as well.
It has caused a ruckus at times, to say the least.
Hope that helps.
The TL;DR is I agree that for a while the poll structure themselves likely made it seem like there was more support for Tony NTR stuff than there actually is.I honestly think the Tony stuff doesn't have as much support as some of the polls make it seem.
If you have a poll where you can pick only 1 option as a "favorite" out of say 6 and only 1 of those is Tony/NTR, then the fans mostly playing for NTR are mostly going to pick that one even if they like other content too whereas fans not into NTR are going to have their votes spread out across the other 5 options. It dilutes the appearance of people not into it.
By comparison, in the polls where people can vote for more than one option to indicate all the potential content they like, the people playing for NTR can still vote for it, but also any other content they like, and the people that aren't into NTR could vote for up to all 5 of the other options as well. It's honestly a better metric of what type of content is enjoyed in the game, which is probably why some of the more recent polls use that metric.
There's also a handful of polls where the Tony content is grouped together with other non-Tony content, which makes voting separately impossible. You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
Don't get me wrong, there's definitely a good chunk of supporters for the Tony content. But I think it's more likely a vocal minority than a majority. You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
That probably wasn't intentional though. Creating good polls that avoid bias is a whole science in itself.
More recent polls have generally done a bit better job at avoiding that bias, but are still imperfect.
