Make what money? You think I am or will ever be a paying customer? I am here for free, as soon as something is not free, I move on to free. I was never a customer. If nothing is free, I will move on to something else that is free doesn't even need to be games. That's sort of the mistake devs make when they think they are losing money from piracy, they aren't because 100% of the time if someone is stealing something they were never going to buy it, and if they were... well then they buy it... or pay later when they can regardless.Yeah, how dare the Dev want to make money on his work! Can't blame him in the least. He is correct. I used to subscribe to him but stopped because it was always leaked fast on here. I'm sure many did the same. At least this way some will simply subscribe to get the release and then unsubscribe. What I dislike are those Devs that put a time frame on when you can download the game once you subscribe. Your theory rings hollow as well. I've read many a poster claim F95 is the reason games became popular. True, to a degree. It certainly generates interest, but the Dev cannot then expect no money for his/her efforts. If games are pirated onto the site within a day or two of release, then what incentive do the Dev's have? None. Do you go to work, try to do a good job in the hope of a promotion, but don't get paid?
DRM can be cracked like anything else so it really makes no difference, someone will always exist who will put in the effort to crack it so people like me can play it for free. If the developer wants to constantly put in effort to patch the crack and waste their life - as opposed to rely on free advertising by people loving their game and praising it when they do play it free - that's on the dev, all it does ultimately is create a bad reputation for them because they come across as greedy, controlling, narcissistic etc. despite the fact that people are entitled to earn money for work they do - the basic idea is to get that money from people who can afford to pay it.
I can play the game free someday, it can be 7 years from now doesn't matter to me. See you in 7 years. In other words you are not nor were you ever getting my money regardless of how good or bad the game was, and regardless of what you do. But I'll still be getting your game.
