I didn't read this whole thread so excuse me if this has already gone over. I see you're doing lots of polling and taking lots of input for this. I think it's always great to get input and listen to input but also I feel you need someone directing a project with their vision of where they want something to go. I am not in anyway saying this is not happening here. I do not know enough about what is going on to make that judgement.

What I am saying is that people often do this best work when they are working something they are passionate about. So be true to what you're passionate about. Take in input but not to a point so much you become no longer interested in what you want to accomplish. For example it would be hard to do a good game on a kink you didn't like. You could do it but it probably wouldn't be as great as if you did one based on the things you did like.

Once again let me state this is no way a criticizem on what you're doing. I think what you guys are doing is wonderful and look forward to release in the future.

Hi starboy66, thanks for the thoughtful inquiry and fear not, it's all been carefully thought-out before embarking on this.

I think the main thing to know is that while i'm completely interested in the core concept of this VN, the driver was the crowdsourcing idea. I've also settled on a production framework that'll keep it manageable and not lead to content or deliverables where i'll lose interest.
I do listen to feedback on many aspects of this production, but if I don't want to deal with a topic or a fetish then it doesn't appear in any polls or content.

The main pitfalls with this type of project is going to be interest from the people that you're asking to participate.
Not enough interest and it would soon revert to a self-published project.
Too much interest and it could tip the other way with others feeling they wholly own both the product and my time.

Ah, time. Time is the big factor here as I have very little spare time. So with the interest can also come frustration that updates are either too short or take too long to appear.
However I've been pleasantly surprised by the interest and reaction from this project's time in the Discussions section. There's definitely a different breed that lurk here, away from the glare of the Games thread. It's felt for a while like F95 could be a victim of its own success, but I'm glad there are enough members who are interested in discussing and participating in a project like this.

I love the idea of a crowd sourced game. I think the interest will stay well alive so long as you can find the time and interest to also continue it

I was a bit wary of putting it on there, as I knew its size would be questioned, but I made the mistake of not creating a page with my other game.
Definite interest on my side, I'll just have to keep control of my urge to add more story, characters and events than actual HS visuals.

Poll time people.
There are two new characters to choose and a simple question on a character's... situation.

First choose the MC's younger sister's BFF.



Then choose who a new character will be. I can't say much about her as it'll spoil a little reveal, but I can say that she's not related to you or connected with your family in any way.



And I lied. It's not so simple a question.
The question is should the VN contain a futa?

If you choose yes then the following will happen...

• This will be the popular porn version of an intersex person. Full breasts with both a working penis and vagina. Hell, let's make it that you can impregnate them
• Though MMF has been voted down, it will introduce the possibility of double penetration and other female characters having another penis being inserted into... well, you get the idea
• Characters will be presented later to be voted on who is the futa. This will be a blind vote, so you can relish being surprised
• Once the futa is discovered, you can of course ignore them or use them to pleasure others without getting directly involved
• If introducing a futa is agreed on, another vote will take place to decide whether the MC can make use of ALL of their bits. Such content will be completely avoidable, even if you choose to use the girly bits.
• I may also introduce new wrinkles to the buttons effects. As the person is technically both sexes, then how do the buttons work if a man can't get them?

The new characters, shown above, will be introduced soon (not the next release) and are not related to the futa question.

Oh, and once you choose the new characters, I'll return with a blind poll on their kinks.

2nd let me say I played your game last night and what you have so far is wonderful and very fresh.

When I first read your game was "crowd sourced", I assumed that you meant the actual development not the content. That might be an idea to get more of the game done faster. Host it on something like github/bitbucket and have some people help you out.

You could then make tasks for other developers to help you create while keeping the generating content to yourself.

Also on my game developing on Fantasy Town (cheap plug), I use one month sprint cycles. Whatever I get done for a month is what goes out as a major release. If I find major bugs after that then I do a minor release after that to fix them about a week after. It's a good way to sort of give you a deadline and keep releases regular.

Funny thing is I think I stumbled upon your other game, while it was still just a talking thing, before it became an actual project (it could very well be another game idea discussion im thinking about though) but then life got in the way and honestly without the latest update pages Id be super out of the loop on everything

At the moment I'm grabbing time where I can, but most of that's producing the visuals. Writing and coding can be done anywhere.
I've thought about reaching out to devs, but not for this, more for an 'open world' project. But that's still a work-in-progress, so I'll keep chipping away when I'm able.

Yes. When you see the self-entitled whining directed at content creators, you have to wonder if they understand the toxic atmosphere they're creating or whether they're genuinely expressing their frustrated interest in a project.

Choosing less or more than two kinks will see your vote disqualified

The results of the kinks vote will not be published and you'll find out which won in the VN.

Now that we have a futa in the VN, you can choose whether you will take advantage of all of their equipment.
It's a simple yes or no: Can the MC jerk off, suck off and be mercilessly pounded by the futa?

If you vote Yes, then the MC will be able to experience sex at the bulbous end. Of the futa's penis.
But you will have an option to say no, and mean it.

If you vote No, then you can only access their lady parts.

This vote is only for the use of the futa's penis with the MC.
No matter the result, you'll still have the choice to use their lady parts. Or they can have sex with other girls. Or you can ignore them completely.

I've closed the voting early due to a few reasons.

Firstly there were clear runaways in some of the kinks and the futa question.
Secondly it was obvious that exposure of this project to the Games thread wasn't all that positive.

Dealing with the results first.

• The kinks have been decided and will appear in the VN as you meet and 'explore' the characters
• The MC will not have the pleasure of playing with the futa's male equipment (though you can still unleash it on other girls)

Yeah, so, there were some consistent voting 'irregularities' where a few voters were piling on with duplicate votes. It was fairly easy to spot and deal with, but I felt that these idiots were the only ones now actively participating.
In the past I usually deleted all but one of their duplicate votes, this time they had all of their votes wiped.

I think this came on the back of a little test I did.
Launching on the Games page resulted in a x3 number of views (compared to this thread), and a very modest increase in this thread's views. The first poll after that didn't see any real increase in participation. It looked like the exposure hadn't affected interest in taking part at all.
So for this recent poll, I tweaked some copy leading to the poll and added an updated cast image to the Games thread, a reminder that voting leads to results.
Sure enough the numbers participating in the poll rapidly climbed. However the majority of votes were those attempting to game the system.

Lesson learned and we'll keep the threads separate from now on.

I'll continue with the current build of v0.01 and will update y'all when I have anything worth updating.

Not for the kinks I'm afraid. This way you guys will get a surprise as you unearth them.
For the futa question, it was around 60/40 in favour of no contact with their male parts.

Gah! Missed my chance as well.
Futa... ugh. As I recently said in another thread, I respect the fact that many people like it, but I'm in the other camp of users who dislike it. It's just not for me.

Thankfully, the game will cater to both camps. I just hope it doesn't have too much overlap between characters where not enabling futa content will negatively impact the plot or its natural progression.
