And if the developer hadn't wasted shitloads of time on subpar, unasked-for "side stories" that never even had any enjoyable content in the first place, the next proper update would have already been released by now... :FacePalm:

Speak for yourself. Side stories are a good way to jump ahead and get to some action without rushing the main story. Plus it allows scenarios that would otherwise never work in the main story context. The latest one even gave backstory on how Cara came to teach at the school and had an amazing vore scene. I believe the dev's goal with the side story is to fill in the gaps so there isn't like 8 months of nothing in between updates. Not to mention they also make custom renders monthly based on the top supporter's requests that are viewable by all supporters. So theyre actually pumping out content regularly, it just appears slow for people who are exclusively waiting for main story episodes. Compared to a lot of devs on this platform, I think they work quite fast, and without compromising quality. For july the dev has paused the patreon/subscribestar so that supporters arent charged for the month of july because they are working hard on finishing the last part of episode3 and that will take too much time for the monthly renders. This means for you that the release is coming very soon and the dev is incentivizing himself to wrap up the episode quickly to go back to earning an income. This is in sharp contrast to the devs who abandon their game and keep charging patrons for years. I consider myself lucky that this dev for this uncommon genre is actually such an amazing developer and creating such wonderful niche content for us.

I even joked that the way the dev was working the game would be released on June 30th on my birthday

Ha! That would have been a great surprise, but if you don't want a buggy mess, it will be even better when the game eventually drops! It would be like getting a birthday cake but your sibling found it and poked their fingers into and all over the frosting :(

I don't consider these side stories pointless at all, even the non-canon ones. It provides the dev experience to make an overall better main product both render wise and coding wise, allows them to practice their craft instead of putting all the focus into the main storyline and burning out. Can't put all your effort into one thing, you'll just get burnt out. Having small short side stories that are just there to provide fans of this project something they can... enjoy themselves to, will ultimately make for even better experiences in the future.
