The release is slightly delayed because of a game breaking bug. Shouldn't take more than a week (hopefully)

1 week delay
Hi all, I have a quick update regarding E3P1's status, which will have to be delayed by 5-7 days and will release before the end of 8th of August.
Right now, I'm facing a seemingly innocuous bug that seems to be on the level of bugs in the past (i.e., similar to the bug severity of the phone causing a hard-lock of the game from Episode 2's release). At first, I was sure it was nothing major but it seems to cause loss of variable data (i.e. it doesn't recall past choices). After playing through it on my end, this loss of recollection seems to be more random than anything. I'm not entirely sure if this is the fault of the save import step new to Season 2 (i.e. Episode 3 Test Release) or if it is a general issue and it was something I discovered just 2 days ago as I was playtesting the game.
I will be trying to fix it on my end as it is causing a small pile-up in the remaining work, which is already nearing completion.
In the meantime and to make up for this last-minute failure on my part, there will be three preview posts going up at the usual time, one for every paid member, one for First-Rate, and one for Head of Family tiers.
Additionally, the previously announced release window that spans 2 weeks will be reduced to 1 week instead (i.e., the full E3P1 will be available to everyone for free 1 week after it's Alpha release), this is also to make up for the unfortunate delay mentioned above.
I sincerely apologize for this delay and for breaking my hard deadline promise, which honestly just sucks and I'm disappointed in myself more than anything. I will get back to trying to resolve this bug and update everyone very soon.

At least the developer is communicating what the problem is and explaining why there needs to be delays rather than try to hide there's a problem.

I'm going to have to be that guy and tell you to stop asking; it'll be released when it's done. I know you're excited like I am, but you're starting to pester, and that's not good in the slightest. There's plenty of other games to play in the meantime, and if you're only waiting for this, go off the web for a few hours and do something else.
Who are you talking to, though? Because as it stands, you really are not being the least bit clear with your post...

While I can understand your annoyance, 2 things.
First, the update was originally said to be released on 8/8 in a previous post from Ariaspoaa talking about the bug that was keeping the update from being releasing. Thus, its very fair for people to ask if it is actually releasing that day, or what's going on.
Second, Mal was asking "how much time" in response to a screenshot of the title of a post made yesterday by the dev saying they needed more time, which is also fair because the screenshot doesn't really explain the details of the contents of the post, only what it is about.
