For the record: the dev has a day job and a personal life, this game is a passion project of his and im hoping he's learned that its best to leave update deadlines vague until he knows when/if he can finish an update by the vague deadline. I will fully admit i was frustrated waiting for updates to drop but I understand the circumstances and just hope he is more transparent about times where he may not be able to give us progress updates for a certain period of time instead of going radio silent. I personally really enjoy this game despite it being in the early stages potentially starting to make its way towards a midpoint.
Battle fuck is highly unfinished so I don't have any criticism outside of it needing more QoL improvement
I agree, its hard to judge a system based off the one or two iterations we have of it for the moment so we'll just have to wait and see how it pans out as more iterations are added.
This looks like a fun game. Would it be possible to play this game using the mouse? I'm an old guy and having to situp at my computer isn't ideal for me and probably a lot of other players tool
Unfortunately due to the presence of QTEs and interactions that will require you to press other buttons to proceed I do not believe it would be possible to play with mouse alone. You can certainly play with the mouse in addition to your keyboard but mouse alone is just not feasible.
The thing that sorta eliminates the 'fun' of QTEs is how absolutely clunky rpg maker runs on some system, I get this weird movement lag where my character would stop for a moment before continuing to move while I've been holding down the same move direction
Unfortunately that's a game engine problem or a system problem and there's only so much a dev can do to fix stuff like that
QTE events were hated since the day they were introduced into gaming, specially these 3: The instante death QTE, the entirely unnecessary QTE and the anticlimactic QTE, this game has the first and second, unfortunately we also have some other minor problems like Eveline slowing down whenever she carries something which makes the mine section a pain in the ass. I also got a bit disappointed when the battle fuck mechanic was added, I played many games before and this one just felt wrong, can't put into words why though
Eveline slowing down in certain sections when carrying stuff is to give the idea whatever she is carrying has some weight to it. I.e the Novalite generators, the buckets of water so that she can put the torches out, etc. Heck she even says so in dialogue when picking those things up that they have some weight to them. I personally dont mind the QTEs and remember this game is supposed to be based off of the older resident evil games plus i like the mix of combat encounters and the sexual ones with you having an option to enact some erotic stuff mid-combat. Makes the game feel like one worth playing through imo instead of coming for a quick yank on the chain and leaving.
