Don't believe everything you read on the internet, most of it comes from uninformed ignorance that morphs into all sorts of crazy rumors (internet = world's biggest game of telephone). Like "professional wrestling" you do realize that is all acting and roleplay and maybe even choreographed and scripted beforehand, right? Of course off-camera before shooting he's going to pay them (negotiated, usually $500-$5k depending on how much camera candy she is) and paperwork signed, ID taken and photocopied, etc. He would have been charged with fraud rather quickly if he wasn't actually paying them and his site would have been shut down by the JD within a few months after one of them filed a criminal complaint. The more likely rumor why he went to jail was because the idiot skimped on paying for STD screening but still didn't use rubbers and caught herpes (1 in 6 have that), but then kept that info to himself, even though a doctor confirmed it (no cure) and also kept trucking on, probably knowingly giving herpes to every other actress he hired after (if he was a real asshole even filming after a flare up, less likely to spread between those). In most states that's a form of sexual battery and that was probably the reason for getting arrested, he also made it easier for investigators by posting his test results online like a moron. Thankfully he was the only one afaik, other couch casters, perverted taxi drivers, etc aren't stupid and don't film those with STD's or go in blind no matter how cheap they are willing to do it. If porn star is your dream job then watch out for those STD's.
