Initially, I was planning for the pictures to be discussed in the theater scene, but as I was working on it realized it was a good opportunity for a sex scene instead. And of course, I thought players (or at least those on the 'straight' route) would enjoy that more as well.In the review, someone has already mentioned that the story develops in fits and starts and is not perceived as holistic and consistent, but in previous versions I did not pay much attention to this. But in this version it really catches the eye.
For example, in the last release, the main character sent her Nude photo to her friends, but at their next meeting there was no dialogue on this score, but there was immediately a spontaneous handjob, as if a page was ripped out of history.
OR! just make the game you want to make, and bring people along for the ride who want to go on the ride.Initially, I was planning for the pictures to be discussed in the theater scene, but as I was working on it realized it was a good opportunity for a sex scene instead. I appreciate all the feedback from everyone far. It does feel a bit like a 'you can't please everyone' situation in some ways, though. There's players who detest any guy + girl content, and others who dislike lesbian content. There's people who would prefer the game to move faster, and others who think it's moving too fast. Etcetera.
I think the best option is to continue polling players for a general consensus, and potentially release longer chapters so that neither the lesbian content nor the straight content receives the short end of the stick. Chapter 6 was an experiment with releasing quicker chapters (4 weeks dev time instead of the usual 6 weeks), but I'm still undecided on what pace is best.
Best advise. People are going to complain about something no matter what you do.stick to your vision, make YOUR game.
I will start out with I have not played the game, I was reading the comments to decide if it was worth the time. Based on A1974's comments, probably not. In reading your comments, it seems like you are letting your patrons vote on how the story proceeds. I know another developer who does that and after more than two years and a lot of updates, he has 90 patrons. You have 5 chapters to your story and 29 patrons. So really, what you are doing now is not working for you. The problem is that you asking the players who like the story the way it is now what to do. They will tend to tell you to stay on the same path, the same path that isn't going anywhere. It would be one thing if you were just wanting to tell the story you wanted to tell; but if that were the case, you would not have your patrons voting on it. Just something to think about, I'm not making any specific suggestions.Initially, I was planning for the pictures to be discussed in the theater scene, but as I was working on it realized it was a good opportunity for a sex scene instead. I do not think that the game is developing too quickly, and even more so I do not incline you to do so that someone will like it. If you want to tell a story, then it is probably worth filling in any gaps with additional dialogue or scenes. If your main goal is to satisfy your fans, then they can ask you to just do sex scenes one after another without any dialogue or eyeliner.Initially, I was planning for the pictures to be discussed in the theater scene, but as I was working on it realized it was a good opportunity for a sex scene instead.
