"Hey, you there!"
"Yes, you!"
"Great news! Have you heard? What? You haven't? Well, now you do! Change of Hearts 0.4.5. is coming your way on March 1st! There are so many new events and crazy things! Including us! You want some new pretty girls, don't you? And you don't even have to look all over town to find us if you don't want to, we'll come straight to you! Crazy, right?"
"So you better play it when it comes out."
"Yeah, you should definitely play it! Or you will make us mad!"
"And you don't want us to get mad at you, buddy. So you know what to do."

Hello everyone. I am sorry for coming up with another announcement so soon after the release, but I feel like this is important.

I started developing this game in late 2023 with very limited experience in coding, and honestly, zero experience in CharaStudio. The learning curve was very, very steep for me. And I feel like that issue is very visible in the early content of the game. I feel like I gradually learned how to improve the quality of the graphics, but that left the early stages of the game severely sub-par, and you deserve only the best I can give you. Because this is one of the first things you see when you open the game, and a make or break for many of you, I have decided to rework the initial release content to bring it up to current quality.

In terms of content, we are talking about reworking the early stages of the game, probably up to the 0.2 release, which is about half of the content at this point. Since I will only be reworking the graphics and not the code, it shouldn't take too much time, but I still expect to spend about 14 days on it. After the rework is done, I will release a new update, which I will try to promote heavily to grow this community into something bigger than it is now. In terms of content, it won't be anything new apart from fixes if I run into any, but the early game will be heavily reworked.

Well, in the end it's up to everyone's preferences. I know I can't make it perfect for everyone. But like I said, I am still keeping the exact long-term relationship development open at this point, and I am also taking your reviews into account when deciding on the next part of the character's arc, so everything could end up being completely different. But that is still a long way in the future because I am taking a slow arc development route for now as I don't want things to feel rushed and unnatural. But there will definitely be multiple romantic relationships between the MC and LIs in the future.

I hope you'll give the game a chance at some point, but even if you don't, thank you for your interest.
Hi DEV, important questions, will there be a harem ending, yes or no?
and is the content forced or can it be avoided? by this I mean some fetishes or tags that sometimes appear in the game that are not to everyone's liking, such as lesbians, ntr, femdom, etc.

Hi there. The harem ending is definitely an open option, but it's too early in the story to think about how I'm going to implement it. But yes, I am keeping that option open.

As far as content goes, a few weeks ago I ran a poll in my community and they decided that they wanted these events to be part of the main lore. As for lesbian relationships, there are some hints in the game, but no direct scenes yet. I plan to add those scenes eventually, but I'll give you the option to skip the direct content if it's not to your liking. However, since some of it is essential to the story that follows, it will be mentioned throughout the gameplay. As for the other tags you mentioned, there are no plans to include them at this time, but that may change in the future. However, the implementation will be the same, it will be possible to skip these scenes.

Great about the Harem ending, now as you say it will be named and can be omitted (lesbian), then it happens no matter what, it will be forced and like forced stuff isn't my thing so maybe, just maybe, I played it

Sadly, it's already a part of the narrative of some characters and tied to the events and development of the relationship with the MC, so I am afraid it cannot be 100 % avoided. I am glad you contacted me about this, though.

What's the point of allowing the player to choose a name for the MC if the game doesn't even allow you to do that in the first place?

Hey Phoenix. I hope we sorted everything out on Discord. Thanks for notifying me about this.

For everyone else: Renaming the MC at the beginning of the game works. It's my fault for creating randomly changing main menu images for which I had to change the text color to be more visible on the background, during which I already accidentally changed the input color to be black on black. It will be fixed in the graphic update I'll release in a few weeks. If you find some other issues, contact me on any of my socials (here, Itch, Discord), I will look into it as soon as possible.

Hi guys, I am back with another devlog.

As you know, I recently announced that I'm working on a major graphics rework of the early content. Though progress has been a little slower than I would have liked due to a lot of work outside of development and some technical and health issues that have hit me recently, I'm still making solid progress and we're just about a quarter of the way there. Apart from that, I have already written some events to be included in the 0.5.0 update, but before I start working on that, I plan to finish and release this rework. I would like to release it no later than the beginning of April, and I am well on my way to doing so at the current pace.

Most of the changes I make to these early renders are minor pose adjustments and camera angle and lighting changes, although in some cases I have decided to completely redo the render to better fit the scene and match the current quality of the content. In some cases, I have also made slight changes to the dialog, but these changes do not involve anything that would change the current lore of the game in any way, so if you don't want to, there is no need to replay the content (although you can still use the Event Replay if you want to see the new renders once the update is released). All in all, I think it will be a big improvement on the early content.

To reward you for your support, here are some of the reworked renders compared to the old ones. If you want to see more and follow the progress in the regularly updated post, please join my Discord to chat with me and my community.

It's just one of many. Hop on the Discord if you want to see more of these reworks, I am posting them regularly.
The point is that compared to the early and the latest content, there is an obvious difference in the quality. Sure, it wouldn't be that visible on some renders but some of them really need a rework.

Hey everyone,

I’ve been thinking about this message for a long time—honestly, for much longer than I’d like to admit. Even opening this text and trying to put my thoughts into words has been difficult, because this is something I never imagined I would have to say. But after a lot of reflection, hesitation, and emotional back-and-forth, I think it’s finally time to share it with you all.

I’ve made the decision to officially stop the development of the game.

This isn’t something that happened overnight. It’s the result of many different circumstances slowly building up over the past months, pulling me in directions I didn’t expect. I want to explain them honestly, because you all deserve transparency—especially since so many of you aren’t just players, but friends, fellow developers, and people who have supported me far beyond what I ever thought I would receive.

Over the past months:

  • Starting my new job has taken a significant amount of time and energy, leaving me with very little room to work on the game in the way it deserved.
  • My personal life has been complicated, and it’s taken a toll on my focus, my motivation, and honestly my emotional well-being.
  • I found myself lacking both the time and the will to work regularly enough to deliver updates in a reasonable timeframe, and I never wanted to push out something rushed or half-hearted.
  • Recent policy changes on Patreon and have made the future of this specific game genre uncertain, and these new restrictions made continuing far more stressful than it should be.
  • A very painful part of this decision was the accidental deletion of several newly created characters and scenes—Emily, Anne, and a lot of older work as well. Rebuilding them from scratch would be a massive undertaking, emotionally and time-wise, and right now, I don’t have the capacity to do that.
  • On top of all that, it became clear that the story I wanted to tell didn’t quite connect with the wider audience the way I had hoped. That’s no one’s fault—it’s just a reality that added more weight to everything else.
  • And finally, my own creative focus has shifted. I feel myself pulled toward other stories, other worlds, other projects that need my attention and feel more aligned with where I am now.
All of this has been on my mind for a long time. I think some part of me knew where things were heading, but I didn’t want to disappoint anyone. I didn’t want to hurt people who invested their time, enthusiasm, or trust in this project. And I didn’t want to feel like I was letting down a community that has supported me far more than I ever expected.

But holding on despite everything was starting to feel dishonest—to myself, and to you. And that’s something I never want to be.

So with a heavy heart, I need to step back.

I can’t stress enough how grateful I am for every single one of you. For your patience, your encouragement, your ideas, your support, and the friendships that formed along the way. It genuinely means the world to me. These two years of development have taught me more than I could have imagined—about writing, coding, planning, managing a story, and most of all, about myself.

I’m leaving this project as a better developer, a better storyteller, and hopefully a better person.

And while this chapter is closing, I’m not saying never. There’s a possibility that someday I’ll return with a new game—something fresh, something that reflects everything I’ve learned and everything I’ve grown into. But right now, I need to allow myself to move in a new direction, without the weight of unfinished promises on my shoulders.

Thank you—truly—for walking this path with me. Thank you for your kindness, for your interest, for the laughs, for the feedback, and for simply being there. I’m deeply sorry if this decision hurts or disappoints you. It wasn’t made lightly, and it comes with a lot of mixed emotions.

But I hope you’ll understand. And I hope, in some way, this community will stay alive—not because of a game, but because of the people we’ve become to one another.

With all my gratitude and affection,

cheeky-owl

I
Shame, I liked this project and was a supporter for a while.

All the best in your life from now on, man.
Thank you, I am glad that you enjoyed it. I shared the girls' cards on the game Discord as a parting gift if you want to grab them. Feel free to do anything.
I'm not saying that I'm completely stepping out of deving but right now, I can't deliver to you what you deserve, and rather than promising something that can't be done, this was a more fair choice.

Very generous of you. I hope somebody can make good use of them.
