VN - Ren'Py - Chasing Sunsets [v0.9a] [Stone Fox Studios]

One of the best starts to a game on here. Exceptionally written. MC and LIs are getting developed and have some mystery. Visuals and animations are great quality as well. Others have mentioned relatively few choices but it makes sense for early chapters when developing the main characters. Only choice wish I had was whether to be with Fiona or not. I’d rather error on too few choices though than too many—that seems when games tend to go off the rails because they can’t account for everything.

Minor Cons: MC is a little stupid/immature and that makes sense for the flashbacks, but present day, I hope he and his stepsis would grow from past mistakes and mature a little more. The only real fault I find is a fairly common one in that every girl that meets MC wants to bang him. One or two one night stands to give the audience some fappable scenes is fine, but unless there’s some mystery dna/superpower we’ll find out later (and that is overdone too so hopefully not), it just is too unrealistic in a game that seems to be striving for quality storytelling. At least the LIs appear to be more slow/natural in developing. I'd honestly give this 4.5 stars due to these issues but rather go with 5 than 4 since this game ranks up there close to PhillyGames stuff.

What to say about this? I'm not used to review too much, as most of the times you base your post on what you like so you tend to be not as objective as you should be.
Story is solid, the dev knows how to tell it, I liked the flashbacks and they helped a lot through the prologue, making it not boring.
Proceeding it makes you wonder what happened and what will be, not giving you the idea of what to expect.
That's what I call a good writing, when you just can elaborate theories not being sure of what to expect.
You slowly enter the inner part of characters, I bet there will be more insights on them.
Renders are really good, well above the average, and animations too (if you played it don't think about sex scenes just about the phone on the floor after falling, if you are going to play it check it out this moment and you'll get what I mean).
So far, I rate it 5 stars.

This is probably the most well-written and compelling new story I have seen in a long time. Great approach to the prologue with the bar conversation. Excellent renders, characters are familiar models but done in a way that makes them a bit unique, and the angles and dialogue give them their own flair. Although some themes are overused in this genre, and the sex scenes develop rather quickly, it is much better than simple fap material, and the kinks feel real, with potential long-term consequences.
There is one kiss that I think the MC should be able to choose how to respond, and there are not a whole lot of choices available yet, but I found that I didn't need much more. Super excited for this dev and story to progress.

Well written and engaging plot with a nice graphic and very likeable characters, very promising start! The only thing we can wish is the more often updates but still it is definitely worth your time to try it though it's in early version. Endorsed!

I am just in awe of this first chapter. The renders, the models, the amazing story simply blew my mind. It is all immensely well implemented with the just the right amount heartbreak, laughter and quite frankly sex appeal. I am so going to keep looking out for this and future endeavors

I guess it's little bit too early for full review but this game looks very good so far. Starting with quality of renders which is very good, could say on the highest segment of the genre. But the biggest point of this game is story and most definetely story telling, which is simply amazing. I love how there is a retrospective combined with multiple timelines and points of view. Plot seems very interesting as well eventhough the game is in early development. My summary is: if the devs keep doing so damn good job, this game has good cards to be one of the best in the genre in my opinion. Totally recommand as this version so far as keep looking after this game in the future. 9/10. [v0.2].

Chasing Sunsets showcases extreme attention to detail, dedication to production quality and storytelling, rarely seen among other games of its kind.

With an intricate story, compelling and realistic cast of characters and outstanding art, the game can hopefully propel the genre forward.

I can wholeheartedly suggest the game to everyone wishing to immerse themselves in a well-crafted and realistic experience.

So far I can tell this game has an excellent graphic and nice plot. I do love the guest npc star and most of all I do like the atmosphere of the game. I am looking forward to see soon more updates. I give this game 5 of 5 stars.

Let's all be honest. We come to this site looking for "models" that catch our eye for a good fap during one of the sex scenes. Sometimes we stumble upon a game that captivates us with a story. This is definitely one of those games even after only 2 updates (v0.2 at the time of writing this.) The game has the "eye-catching models" and an incredible storyline that will keep me coming back on day 1 of every new release. Will happily say after finishing this last update, I cannot wait for the next. Well done Stone Fox Studios.

What a delightful surprise. I actually like the MC. I feel the emotions that are tearing through the scenes. For the first outing cranking 1.6GB of quality is very impressive. This has easily developed into one of my favorites, I mean this when I say it, other than a few typos and or word tense issues this is far better written than most on here could put out. The rules will not let me call one out that does not deserve the following it has, which is too bad, but what I am talking about will be no surprise to anyone who reads my posts, but I sincerely believe this is a better first chapter than the first work of 99% of the games on here. I hope you get a huge following, as you are far more deserving than most. I place your work as being in my new top 5. The STORY and the MC are what I look for in a novel, so I can lose myself in their story, and your first chapter is definitely heading in the right direction!

An outstanding start to this story with fantastic graphics and gorgeous ladies. Sis is a real redhead with her fiery attitude and there are many other characters to enjoy as well. This is one to get. Support the dev if you can as this is really a worthy effort!!!!

I was stunned to hear that this is the first game from these developers. The writing is on point, the renders are beautiful, and I'm genuinely excited for the story to continue past the prologue. And what a story it is: it feels true, like it could be a story some guy you just met in a bar tells you. Which, considering the prologue's setting, makes a great deal of sense.

I am happily waiting for the next update, and I'd wouldn't be shocked if it was even better than what we've already seen.

This is, hands down, the best prologue that I've played so far. It did it's job of providing an interesting background, while hooking me into the story. That is why, unlike others, I don't really mind the lack of choice, as it sets the scene very well with memories from the MC's past.
The size of it was also good enough not to leave me disappointed by lack of content.

I'm looking forward to the future of this game. Good luck, dev team!

The story of the game is pretty amazing, got me fixated on it while i was playing. Event though some people are complaining about the lack of choice making, i don't think that's a bad thing.If the prologue can make me this excited, i can't wait to see how i'll feel when playing the whole game.

I wish I could give it more stars, because the developer clearly cares.

I do prefer the more story heavy porn games, someone even showing too
much skin early on in the story kind of breaks it for me.

However, this is just a very poor way of utilizing games as a medium. This might as well be a comic book.

I don't expect a lot gameplay wise from a porn game. Usually some meaningless choices that slightly make a difference to the dialogue is enough to keep me interested if the story is good enough.

However, I will not press left mouse button or spacebar 5 times for a tiny bit of story progression. A lot of the dialogue I would categorize as filler and fluff. Even if it wasn't, if the story was concise but vivid, without any interaction, might as well be a comic book. I was ready to play a game, not read a book.

Don't get me wrong, I was prepared to read a lot. However, with some interactability. As previous reviews have mentioned, there are choices. Like 2 or 3. It's just not enough for this many dialogue sequences..

Finally, obviously the art is top 10 on the website or so. Amazing. Single handedly earning them the stars.

Much I said is still true, there are more choices than before
and the art is still amazing. The characters are some of the best looking on the site. However, the story is so filled with fluff, and mostly uninteresting and trips itself all the time.

Edit: update for v7. Added one star. At least the character writing hits my kinks well. Love both the main love interests a lot. However, unfortunately these loveable characters with loveable moments are surrounded by 3000 words in between each character moment about corporate politics. I can't think of a more dull topic.

Game is pretty heavy on the story and does so without making it boring.
I prefer games which have at least some weight on the story instead of just being animated porn, so my opinion may be a lil biased.

Overall a great game. A must try.

What could i say about this VN other than amazing. The prologue HOOKED me straight away, couldn't wait for the next update

Pros :

• If you are the same as me and leaning toward the story rather than the sexual content, this is the game for you. The dev didn't mess up on the prologue, they made sure we understand before we jump in and that is rare these days. Looking at how good the prologue was, i expect a high quality, juicy story and of course some sexual content on the side.
• The rendering looks great, the characters are pretty and handsome. Tara is number 1 for me The dev could improve the hairstyle a little bit, not big of a problem tho
• The background is decent, at the party you could see everyone who attend and not some big empty room.

So far, i like everything about this VN and feels like i'm in on one hell of a ride for the foreseeable future.

Keep up the great work, if the story is as amazing as the prologue was then this VN is gonna be a successful project for sure

Imagine my surprise when I named the main character "Jay", only to learn that Jaye is the step-sister.

What a beautiful prologue. Characters are really well-developed and the writing is amazing. The heartbreak, although very real, doesn't quite portray the level of teenage angst and adolescent love that it was aiming for. I had some criticism about the motivations behind the Fiona sex scene, but given her inconsequential status in the game, I don't think it's worth bringing that up. Also, I would have liked to see what happened with Jenna and Tara over the years. If the mc played football and baseball in high school, he definitely should've been popular enough to date some girls. I'm guessing he didn't because of Jaye? That wasn't really explored. I also find it hard to believe he didn't have a best friend after his step-sister (who really stopping being his best friend since childhood) until he met David.

All in all though, it's a fantastic game so far. The chess pieces are set and I'm really excited to see where Chapter 1 goes.

OK. To tell you the truth I never had high expectations for any porn game. The point, I thought, for most, would be to just get off. Games beside this mostly met those low expectations, but I have been surprised a few times. This game, as short & limited in size as it is, shows the best promise yet. I am an artist & a poet, good work requires a story, requires attention to detail. Even just as a prologue, both requirements have been met. The story is well written, well conceived, engrossing & has left me hanging, the visusals are plentiful, beautiful, & also shows the same attention to detail as the story. I can imagine that the whole game, when completed, will take considerable effort & dedication, like any art work worth the effort. I gladly give this game 5 stars & only regret that I did not encounter this when it was completed, instead of at such an early stage. Kudos to the developers, you have my highest regard.

Excellent game , unlike other games, I didnt have to skip dialogue in this one because it was really interesting and flawless. Skin texture is somthing i found amazing as well . All in all, great game, would highly recommend.
