In theory that could be worked around. The story would presumably be about poor Tara finally encountering love directed towards her specifically, thus allowing her to move on and find happiness of her own. But it would be a very narrow path that makes the new romance engaging without belittling the events of CS that caught the audience's attention in the first place.

There's also the issue that Tara remains Jaye's BFF. If she's a central character in the next game and meets the love of her life, you'd think she'd want to tell Jaye about it - which raises the issue of how the next game handles our preferences in this one.

It's a very thorny set of problems. There's a real risk they missed the mark with Tara and it trying to catch lightning in a bottle twice will simply wind up burning them and breaking the bottle for good measure. Then again maybe it will work and all those Tara fans will finally get to live happily ever after. We'll just have to wait and see.

Eh, I never liked either of them so I'm glad we'll get more options. Of course, it's not clear catering to my tastes is a great business model. :cautious:
In CS canon Alex and Jaye are a couple, I have little doubt about that, so that would be the situation. By the way the strong bond is between Tara and Jaye not with Mallory (which would be more complicated to introduce)

I am not saying its impossible to write a story about it, but that on balance it would be more of a problem than a gain

Mallory is a virgin, Jaye is not, therefore Mal > Jaye, checkmate :cautious: :Kappa:
In my playthrough, I see Jaye as a virgin - she has never been with another man.

If you're saying that Jaye is not a virgin due to her experiences with Tara - then we are comparing peaches to bananas... ;)

Jaye is a virgin to bananas, at least the kind attached to a male body...

Cheers!! :coffee:

All of them are confirmed to be LI for the next game? Or are some just characters you could potentially sleep with?
Don't think they ever mentioned their status, between main and secondary, but at least Skye and Taylor have been in a lot of renders posted by Kentyrr in the past year, so maybe better chance those should be main? But, reading the status update about wanting to add more LI and faster relationship progression with most of them, might as well all be main LI. Went from game with 2LI, that barely had enough time for side girls, to game with 10 LI, will see how it goes.

Memes aside, Its not the sharing, its the feelings out of the blue, they really should have started with just a threesome, then build into a throuple ending/epilogue. Keep the feelings part out of it, or start hinting at them way sooner, like 2 chapters ago.

Mallory and Peanut always gave me sister vibes, not f95zone sisters, now they are suddenly deeply in love and always wanted to be with each other, where were the hints? :WaitWhat:
Amanda' lust for mc was more often then not played for laughs and no romantic feelings were ever even hinted at and MC doesn't care about Amanda at all until his pants are around his ankles, in front of her. It really feels like you skipped 2-3 updates of content on that route.
Imo, its one of the worst throuple setups I've ever seen, not that there are that many worth praising...

Add to that, the cherry on top, the dialogue that makes the MC/Player feel like an asshole for selfishly denying these 2 sweet girls their chance at happiness after their horrible lives and making the solo romance sound like settling for the lesser option. I've been playing this since 0.1 and this was the first time that I completely disagree with Stoya's writing. That entire storyline has been borked and it needs a lot of continuity patching to even halfway work.

Again, I have no problem with a throuple ending, in fact ask ename144 how many times I made fun of him with the inevitability of it, its just the execussion that blows. Finishing the update I kept staring at the 'Mallory is in love both with you and Amanda' ending screen scratching my head. Really?!

I'd also like to tease our next project, tentatively called "Firebreak."
Here's what I can share about it so far:
  • We plan to keep the story in the same universe with some crossover characters from Chasing Sunsets
  • We're looking at a different approach to episodic releases which will hopefully makes each update more self-contained
  • It will feature a male MC
  • While the game will be story-driven, there will be more potential LIs, including some who were not LIs in Chasing Sunsets
Hand me downs the game. Or is it called Firebreak the game, because you need one to cure the fire in your loins from the whole STD's?

In a game full of side chicks and only two love interests, it is on you if you chose one of the "other" girls instead of Jaye or Mallory. There is not enough backstory to know what Tara is even like. All we know is that she served the purpose of being a surrogate for Jaye and the MC. Sure, she is gorgeous despite the uber lesbian hair. But that is all we know. Her story has yet to be told.

I never got the feeling that the story forced the MC between Amanda and Mallory. Amanda is simply experimenting. She related better with an "unknown" online presence than she does with an actual human being. By the end of the chapter, it was still a race between Jaye and Mallory. However, because the devs are so kind, they allowed us to play with a view of other beautiful playthings, like Lisa. That doesn't make Lisa the focal point. She is just a tiny piece of the background, like Tara.

I find it ironic that Jaye and Tara had more ground to work on as a throuple than Mal and Amanda.
There are three (maybe four) very brief scenes with Tara. We get a flashback to when they were little kids, the sex scene with Jaye, the sex scene with the MC, and the scene where she drops Jaye off to meet George and the MC. How many scenes are with Mallory and Amanda? How much character development do we have with those two characters?

Exactly and yet we have a sex scene with Alex, Mal and Amanda that comes across as way out of left field.

I think you missed my point there. The setup for Mallory and Amanda is quite steady. Amanda showing up in the MC's room felt natural. This leads to Amanda obviously participating eventually with Mallory and the MC. I do feel, however, that the full-on threesome where Mallory gets blindfolded, felt rushed and a bit manufactured. One of those moments I had to chalk up to "porn logic" which is unfortunate. I had not had to do that with this game up until that moment. Left field? Not quite for me. But it did feel artificial. Maybe that is what you were saying?
