Even in a best case scenario, where she is friends or more with rapey during those 5 years and did not think about fact MC might be less happy to see him. Well to forgive a would be rapist for his actions, beyond being naïve beyond believe, since people may learn to hide their bad sides better, but anyone who is prepared to rape a young girl in her bedroom is at very best a selfish bastard at his core and will stay one. Also it would mean that Jaye more easily forgives an attempt to rape her as what mc did (what does that say about her and her priorities) and again shows no concern at all how MC might react to bringing Rapey, while even someone with very low empathy might understand that giving MC at least a heads up in advance might be wise and that he would not be happy to see Rapey as a nice surprise. :) Talking about having your priorities straight. :p
Maybe dev is building up Rapey's character for a future NTR spinoff of this game. :ROFLMAO:

Nah I doubt it, not impossible though that dev may want to create some of those angst feelings in game possibly that you stop as MC at last moment to whip up the drama even more if Jaye bringing Rapey to make MC jealous is indeed what start next update would be about. That will not be appreciated by everyone if the case. :p

Amazing to see you all know how Christian (if it is in fact him) as evolved at all in 5 years.
Just a reminder that he was a pushy asshole, that had no understanding of consent, not a straight-up rapist who assaulted Jaye.

For all we know he could have realized in those last years exactly how what he did was wrong and made amends for it.

Also a reminder that the devs said there will be no NTR in the game. But that doesn't mean that if you deny a girl, she'll stay a nun till the end. They will in fact move on, as they should. Let's see if you can, too.

We have an old saying: A fox may loose his hair when he becomes older, but not his tricks. The simple fact he was able to do what he did means he is a selfish bastard at his core that finds it ok to abuse others to get his own goals satisfied. Now if he had been 12, maybe he could outgrow that. Losing that extreme selfishness and becoming more empathic is one of the emotional growth phases of a kid, though that is normally already before age 6. :p At 18 though those things do not change anymore in your core, however much better you might become at hiding it for others or even maybe for yourself.

I was pertaining to Jaye. She's still as volatile, hotheaded and petty in her mid 20s (?) as she was in her teens. Tbh, her only redeeming quality is her being a pretty redhead.

Tbh, I'd facepalm even harder if it wasn't Christian.
First, I am 100% certain it's Rapey McFuckface.

Second, if you know redheads, their hotheadedness is definitely a stereotype that is earned. NEVER... and I mean NEVER piss off a redhead :D

Changed or not, I am fixing to prepare his cement shoes as we speak. He'll be swimming with the fishes see. Seriously, I just want to throw him overboard with some chum and let the sharks enjoy their meal.

Christian just stopped the rape attempt when he heard Alex calling for Jaye at the hallway. If he were alone with Jaye he would have consummated the act.

And I have to remind that was Christian who drove Alex and his family apart. Even if Alex and Jaye had a troblesome and complex relationship, Christian was the fuse that trigger the bomb, as we say in my country.

I made the mistake of playing first BaDik and then Acting Lessons, thinking that it would have a similar plot or that it would not have as much drama, I was wrong, that night I could hardly sleep, that decision broke something inside of me.
I remember it took me a couple of weeks to continue playing to finish the story.
Those 2 have been on my Steam wishlist for a long time now, how good are they? I keep hearing both good and bad depending who you ask.

Maybe wait and see who it is first? So far we only have MC's reaction to a scent. Still think it's a red herring....
Lol for that same reason I refuse to watch that last part until the next chapter is released. I forced myself to stop playing right after that stupid kiss Mallory blindsided and sexually assaulted my mc with. Even then I was already getting antsy with the thought of finishing ch1 with a bitter taste in my mouth. Fingers crossed devs wouldn’t pull that cruel of a trick (unless the silver lining is the revelation Christian is Jaye’s flamboyant gay friend that is)

Both are groundbreaking. Dr. PinkCake is a legend for a reason, and his VNs are what introduced me to the genre to begin with. It was only a year ago that I had never considered writing one, and was doing the same things many of you are doing in this thread in his Discord: Trying to put the pieces together and sort out the motivations of the principal characters.

I do believe individual elements of Being a DIK (art, animations) are done better by other devs, but nobody brings everything together into a cohesive whole the way Dr. Pinkcake does. Him being top dog so convincingly is proof of that.

You aren't wasting your money, though I would suggest using Patreon before Steam, because he only realeases "seasons" to steam, so you have to wait until four episodes are done. If you're a patron, you get the episodes individually as they release and spend less time waiting.

thanks for the heads up. You guys rock btw, missed the stream but was able to listen in via the links on the Discord channel.

As far as those other VNs, every time I’d get close to playing that or city of broken dreamers, inevitably, I’d come across a negative review which always seemed to make me procrastinate a little longer. But I think I will finally just judge for myself. I love VNs with a good story that always seem to grab me and make me invested in the premise and / or the characters much like Intertwined, A.O.A. Academy, PaleCarnations, Sunshine Love, and Avalon recently have.

It’s called sarcasm, was that really that hard to pick up?
Though sadly, in today’s social climate, if the genders were reversed, kissing someone in public like that without it being clear there was some type of existing relationship in place would have a certain segment crying out for insensitivity for obvious sexual assault

Both are very good, for a reason DrPinkCake is one of the best devs in this genre.
AL has a more serious tone while BaDik is more comedy with a touch of drama.
Acting Lessons is complete while BaDik only has the first 4 episodes (1st season).

The larger the game, the more likely it is to receive negative reviews. We have some one-star reviews on here that I don't think are particularly fair. Sometimes the product just isn't what the player is looking for and they take out their dissatisfaction by trying to hurt the dev's perception.

For pure production values, it's hard to beat City of Broken Dreamers. That intro video alone is the stuff of legends. DPC manages to turn a VN into an actual game with a tons of minigames, quicktime fistfights, and memory puzzles. Those can be disabled if I recall, if you don't like minigames getting in the way of your porn.

One of the times I talked to DPC, I complained that a lot of his sexual encounters felt gratuitous and unlikely, and that the ones that resonated with me were the ones that had some buildup. He told me that he was catering to both types of people who play his game: The quick fap crowd, and the more invested player. I remember thinking it sounded kind of sell-out at the time, but it's very clear to me now that story-rich AVNs are a niche, and the godmode smashfests are what draws a huge fanbase. He understands the market better than anyone, as over 10K patrons would attest.

Also Summer´s Gone has a good story and the art and animations are in another level.
The only bad thing that for now there vn doent have sex scenes, just a blowjob.
