Well to this I'll say : look at Leap of Faith. Or BaDIK. Or Summer's Gone.
Good music can absolutely enhance a scene. A couple of times in the prologue I felt such a thing with the musics. So I personally like that Stoya takes the time and dedication to do this, cause it's one of those rare VNs where I actually listen to the music they picked.

Couldn't be more hyped for the update. I think they have something very special in their hand.
Well to this I'll say: read again the quoted post. There is nothing I havent said there already.
Or you actually are saying that music, even in those few games, is more important than the other things I have mentioned? If so, there is no need for any further discussion, anyone have an opinion, and that is ok.
As a side note, Im not sure if there are/were some pollis regarding music importance, ie how many players care about it in porn games. Just as an indicator. Apart from few who really enjoy it, I personally have doubts the majority of porn-games players really care about it.
Anyway, if on the table is a quality story and images (or even sounds), i consider it as a complete set-up, If there is a music too, good (though I usually play it on mute), if not - who cares. Yet if the dev spending resources (money for hardware upgrades coders, writers etc...) and time to add music, thus making updates either less frequent, or smaller, i pretty much do care and Im saying in that case - fuck that shit.
Yet, to repeat once again- their game, their rules, whatever they did, its on them.
There always will be those loving it much, loving it less, or hating it.

Music just to have background sound is not very good (we can listen to our own or just none at all) especially when you hear the same music across multiple game. But music that match the action or the mood in game is top tier (BaDIK, LoF). But it's just my opinion.

Sounds are good too like door closing, spanking, etc., except moans during intercourse that are just ripped off real porn videos

Just because some of guys think it's pointless to add music to scenes to create an overall better feeling to certain scenes doesn't make it "unnecessary" or anything like that.
I can agree to it that it's probably not necessary to a porn game to add actual music, but I personally like having some quite background music that helps to paint the entire picture.

And at the end of the day, it's their first project. So why the hell not go all out in a sense and fumble around with everything you want to fumble about and just roll with it.
Learning by doing ;)

And as MrFriendly said : Their game, their choices. We just have to live with the product and either like it or not :p

Isnt a bit weird that more resources in porn games (those who have it) go on music, whatever its purpose could be, than on actual porn-sounds?
Wouldnt be better to enhance that aspect - to make it better by "original" sounds fitting hot/sex scenes, than to invest into "original" music, or even go as far as voicing the whole game (voice actors), which is imo a whole new level of, well, kinda insanity.
My guess is that "musicating" porn-games, with exceptions, usually has a role to attract a bit wider fan-base/support (as any other possible popular "kink"), as there are many who love music in general (wth, im one of those myself).

This actually is the main thing -a first project, learning and all of it...sad thing those who are too ambitious with that learning /starting often end up abandoning their projects too soon. Better thing would be to start small, and then improve and add things as the game/dev progress/mature.
For the last time, (not) to sounds like a broken record-whatever they do, its good.

They're ambitious alright and given their nature the possibility of actually abandon this is close to zero, but of course you can nenver know for certain.

And taking baby steps is all fine and dandy, but if they want to try music out immediately, why not. If you mute game sounds anways, it shouldn't matter in the first place.

And I suspect all of us are past the age where we can't wait an additional month for an update. Development takes time like everything else, so just give them time.

And if you still don't like it, you can always leave. And before new torches are ignited.... I am not suggesting anything :p

I think that's where we truly differe Abhai. I don't consider CS a "porn" game, rather a VN with some porn elements. I know that might seem like a stretch but it's one of those games I don't play purely for the sex scenes. LoF and STWA the Author are the same to me, and that's why I actually enjoy having good music to it.
Most of the time, I play those games because I enjoy the story, and the music helps in that regard.

I guess it all boils down to what you're looking for as an experience when you play.

CS is definitely not your round of the mill fap fest porn game.
Think I said it the first time I posted in this thread - it's a slow burn high-quality love novel.

I don't think anyone is arguing here if it should have some background music to fit the mood or not. It should, and if chosen carefully it can enhance the overall experience in a good way.

Most just pointed out it's not an easy task with the resources at hand and if done wrong can backfire so people usually choose to mute the sound and set their own music in the background.

Oh absolutely and I understand Abhai's argument too. Sure, it takes time (and Stoya did said as much as well) but if anything, it's probably easier to add them as you go (imagine having to put music after your game is quite long, and recode each scenes, etc) and this team looks like it knows what it's doing. They have a good flow going on between them too so I'm not worried about it like I could be with some devs.
Of course, time will tell if we're right. But I've got a good feeling about this.

Nice, enjoyable game; though would be a lot better if we weren't forced to watch sex scenes we aren't a part of.

As Kentyrr and I barrel into the home stretch for Chapter 1, I just wanted to announce that the fully-scripted beta is out to select testers for feedback and focus testing.
The story is somewhat denser than the average Adult Visual Novel, and we've seen from previous feedback that this is somewhat polarizing, particularly for people who feel let down that there's as much story as sex. As such, we do try to walk the line and we view the feedback phase as our last chance to modify the narrative if we've sailed off the map.
Kent is averaging 25 scenes a night in the run-up to release, with a significantly higher delivery rate on weekends.
One thing we are particularly proud of is that we have put 100% of every sheckel donated by our patrons to date back into our project. Every last penny has been absorbed by render hardware or software and music licensing, and that will be the case for the foreseeable future. In short, our work is only possible because of you.
We have used three custom assets in the game to date. What that means is that we've commissioned models, buildings, and locations that you will not see in any other game.
Here are a few examples:

This cabin was made especially for Chasing Sunsets by our 3D Modeling friend Puggy.
In addition, we commissioned a pair of iRay Arch Nazares for Chapter 2.

As always, we're grateful for your continued support, and based on the feedback we've received from our beta team, we're well on our way to delivering on the promise made by our Prologue with Chapter 1.
We'll keep you updated as release date nears.

These guys are doing impressive work, especially for first timers. Do they have background in game development or similar?

As Chapter 1 approaches release, the current plan is to add all Patron names to the closing credits crawl. I typically do this by scraping the Patron list and adding the names I see there.
We will NOT add names which appear to be personally identifying - Meaning, a real name or some other detail by which you could potentially be identified.
If you do not want your name in the credits, or wish to have it appear differently than your Patreon name, either send us a message or post your preference below.
Thanks again for making Chasing Sunsets a reality!

COVID strikes Stone Fox. Kentyrr was introduced to the pandemic a short while ago, they hit it off, and now they're a couple!
While this may seem like bad news, it's a mild case, and he's been quarantined. With his art rig, This means he's been tearing through scenes at a faster pace, though we try to make sure he doesn't overdo it and gets plenty of rest.
Beta 1 feedback was very positive, and we've incorporated a few changes based on feedback, but nothing that adds significantly to the remaining work.
We did find an issue with the Erica model that forced us to adjust and re-render almost 300 images, but thankfully it took longer to make the adjustments than it did to actually cook them. That's in the rearview mirror now.
With the release of the Genesis 8.1 female models, we have updated all major female characters to the new assets, and they will be rendered as such through the last few scenes of Chapter 1. Thankfully, the differences aren't so noticeable that this will be jarring.
Once again, the script called for something existing assets could not provide, so we had to enlist Puggy again to give us a Snowmobile with two seats (see above.)
Sound is mostly complete now, and the phone system is fully-implemented and should look (and sound) pretty familiar to those partial to a specific brand. ("Parody", trademark lawyers!)
Once we see how much of the remaining art Kentyrr is able to knock out while he's in Quarantine, we'll be able to project a specific release day. Look for that in the next update!
Stay safe, healthy, and warm!

I've been dying to play the next chapter so much. The intro was so good that I fell in love with the characters, to where I want to know what happens next. It's up there with The DeLuca Family, Being a DIK, Estate: Domination, Reluctant Archon, and a few other story driven games on here in terms of quality and overall character development.
