once you know that it has no possible developments a threesome with Tara and Jaye has the same value as a threesome of Jaye with any other female character, from Captain Tanaka, to the Sunset captain's wife, to the bartender/assistant, to the stewardess....
The point would be smut, pure and simple: we get a sexy threesome with Jaye.
There was no possible development for Fiona, Erica, Linda or Lisa either, yet somehow we got sex scenes with them. And aside from Fiona, those scenes are optional, so it's not like they were required for plot the way Tara's first scene was. Those girls are there to make sure we get sexy times during the game and there's a solid chance Tara could be called on in a similar capacity at some point down the line.
Now you can argue the need for side girls has diminishes as we reach the point that the main LIs are willing to 'put out.' This is a valid argument, but it's not ironclad. We'll need new twists for sex scenes as the game wraps up, and adding a third player is one way to do that. The game has certainly positioned Amanda in that capacity with regard to Mallory; indeed, at this point I'm more concerned about whether a Mal/Amanda threesome will be avoidable than whether it will be possible.
So as of right now I think it's fair to think Tara could still be in play under controlled circumstances. I'm not going to put any money on that, but I'm definitely not putting money against it, either.

I don't remember seeing Fiona's husband, I think he's only mentioned in the game. But it's also mentioned that he gave MC a job or helped him or something along those lines.
I'm pretty sure Fiona and her husband were strangers to the MC. When we first see Fiona, she needs to introduce herself to the MC. He, meanwhile, is uncertain who her husband even is:
Admittedly, that dialog was from v0.4a, but my nearest save is glitched in the newest version and I don't have time to recreate it at the moment; I doubt it's changed. IMHO, it's pretty clear the MC knew Fiona was married, but not much more. AFAICT Fiona will automatically file for divorce even if we avoid her as much as possible once the game starts, so technically the MC was the catalyst that ended it. Still, given Fiona's behavior it's not clear that outcome could have been was avoided even if he'd never entered the picture, and he at least had no personal relationship with Fiona or her husband to betray. It's not a great look for him, but it's not monstrous, either.
Linda, on the other hand...
Speaking of the choice for Linda. I find that ridiculously hard and well made. Either choice leads to a bad outcome in my head. There is truly no good option if you porked either lady. We all know we picked one of them the first time
. You only cleaned up your act on the 2nd playthrough and touched neither one.
To preface both options. A rational Alex (as well as player) knows that shes evasively trying to learn if she still have a chance with him or not. A normal woman would do this choice without input from a guy. Alex is traveled and grown up enough to know that by now imo.
Its obvious she should leave because she was willing to cheat and did 4-5 years ago, said its been no feelings since for her and most likely for some time before that since she did cheat so quickly. (Also she recently cheated again in the cabin for lots of players, right next to her daughter You dirty dog. Yeah I see You! I recognise You in the mirror every morning!

But leaving and showing interest is not the desired outcome for a "good" Alex. A good Alex should be asking her to stay to put that interest down because Alex is going for one of two other LIs but thats not good for Linda. Its horrible, awful to trap both spouses in a loveless marriage thats been dead for so many years. Both deserves better. The time for fix it was half a decade ago!

Its only on a 2nd playthrough where Alex didnt diddle either one where the correct choice is asking her to leave, but just barely. She still shows hope but at least youve left the past in the past and not done anything stupid to
really lead her on.
Hmmph, speak for yourself. I kept my pants on the first time and most of the subsequent times. I tried the Erica option once but I reloaded afterwards because it felt lame; I like Erica, but that's not how a first time should be. There are some things that are just too dumb to do even in a porn game. But Linda is whole different world.
Regardless of how culpable you feel the MC was when they first started the affair, he absolutely knows he's betraying Ray (and Erica) if he restarts anything during Chapter 1. That's already bad enough, but encouraging Linda to leave Ray after that is, IMHO, loathsome. Even if you think the marriage is beyond saving, that advice is hopelessly compromised if you're effectively invested in its demise. The MC cannot be the person to deliver that message.
And personally, I don't think their marriage was beyond saving at all. From the (admittedly very brief) snippets we see and hear from Erica, Ray was trying to step up his game and patch things up; it's Linda who wasn't pulling her weight (or at least wasn't willing to share her concerns with Ray). Call me old fashioned, but I think you should be expected to make compromises for the sake of the marriage if and when things get tough. That's the whole point of it being 'for better and for worse.'
Given that, there's really no justifiable excuse for the MC to counsel Linda to leave Ray - certainly not until he's counseled her to try saving her marriage first.

Actually, come to think of it, I've never actually seen what happens if you sleep with Linda because it's just too callous for my taste. Like letting Jaye drown, it's cool the game allows it but that doesn't mean I need to try it.
