One of the things Kent and I have wanted to do for a long time is replace some of our early still-frame pseudoanimations with real ones. This was primarily an issue in the Prologue and Chapter 1-2. In any case, here's a very rough replacement from the prologue of the Fiona lewd to give you an idea of what the updates will look like.

It's 10 MB as long as I can remember. Maybe use JPG instead of PNG. In most cases the file size shrinks extremely without noticeable quality loss.
It accepted a 11.5MB GIF using the "insert image" > "upload image" button just yesteday. I also thought that it will probably refuse to accept it, but it didn't.

However, I agree that for still images png as a lossless compression is great if the image is expected to be processed further, but no good for simply uploading to web to show it.
Unless its color depth / palette is lower than 24 bits. It's excellent for B/W images and screenshots with text on plain color backgrounds, for example.

WEBP would be best compression/visual quality-wise, but sites still have problems processing and displaying them, although browsers these days have no problems any more.
So the old classic JPG is still the best choice for F95zone.

Usually the general rule for myself that I've followed for years has been following:
- If you want to keep quality as close to the original as possible, but still make some use of the lossy compression of JPG, use 98% quality on compression (highest quality JPG compression for the Nikon D3200 DSLR camera is 98%, better than that is only the RAW format).
- If you want to make the size as small as possible, but keep the general visual quality without noticeable artefacts, use no less than 85%. Going lower than that will likely produce artefacts.
