The last few times i told the guys who shared patreon DL links (not on this particular thread) i got scolded at or got facepalms. It has changed alot in the recent years, nobody cares anymore...
size of the game 5.5GB, compressed 1.4, and the complaint is about stolen bandwidth by the pirates?

I think dev's engaging this community is preferable to dev's avoiding this community.
I am happy to support these devs and Chasing Sunsets - and I enjoy this creation so much that I support them on SS and I bought them on Steam - my $, my choice!
If the creators of Chasing Sunsets have decided to cease all engagement with this community, then we have lost something, and more than
Now - I recognize that some cannot afford to donate to creators at this time.
I'm not blameless in this either.
My solution is imperfect - and I own that - but here it is. I have tried out VNs from F95 and, if I liked them enough to keep playing them, then when I had the means, I've gone back to creators and supported them (sometimes for works that they had completed a year or more in the past - maybe it was $30 over 6 months or $12 over the course of a year but it was something).
This is not Virtue Signaling; I have one pronoun that I don't beat people over the head with and I woke up this morning - which is as close to Woke as I will ever get (and yes - every human being deserves the same basic dignity we should all extend to each other).
I also believe that offering honest feedback (not trashing devs and calling 99% of them milkers because they do not produce content fast enough for some of the pirates here) can be helpful, though not worth as much as $ since electricity, hardware, rent, food etc. all cost $ and this is how some creators make their living.
For those who think your $ in any amount means nothing to creators, I can tell you that is simply a lie told by those who refuse to be honest about their actions and the consequences of Not supporting creators when you can afford to but Choose not to.
One creator I have supported for years lives in Germany. His electricity costs went up 300% last year and he's been warned that this winter, they are likely to exceed a 300% increase again over what he paid last year - welcome to a consequence Europe is getting hit with due to Russia's war with Ukraine.
Due to this, he has warned his supporters that he will not be able to afford to license as much music (you see, he has to actually pay for the digital assets he uses) for his next release or two.
For those who could afford to go with, for example, one less Starbucks Grand whatever/week and turn that into a pledge to him, enough additional $ support = more and better music.
In his case, we will end up with updates that have less of the music that we love helping to tell the story.
For other creators, the lack of support could well be the difference between continuing an AVN or abandoning it.
I'm happy to continue supporting Chasing Sunsets and I hope that others who play Any VN over and over again try to give some kind of $ support for as many of those creators as they can.

Ya, when companies give me what I want in games, I'm happy to support them, which is why I'm supporting this developer, and plan to buy the game on Steam.

Either way, it's moot, as the dev account appears to be gone now. Here's hoping the content distribution model they move to doesn't inconvenience supporters too much.

I realize that I am only a single data point, but I don't do Twitter. I don't visit Instagram. I have never, in my brief forays, seen an AVN on Reddit. (I mainly go there for Star Citizen)
So while these devs may in fact do all those things, it is having zero impact on people like me. What brought me here? Another user who had posted in a Russian torrent site forum with a game signature from something here.
Every single AVN I have played or purchased is a direct result of their popularity gained via the F95 forums and its users. Previously the only kinds I had ever even seen were the shitty ones that looked like people who stole frames from low-cost Japanese cartoons. This place reveals a cornucopia (pornucopia?) of high quality rendering and occasionally great stories. Any devs that don't properly appreciate that are deluding themselves.
Yes, some users are entitled cunts behaving like spoiled children. The ignore button works equally well for a dev as it does for me. Rather than throwing a snit over mist issues they should just block the problems and move on.
(I get why SFS was annoyed here, I mean in more general sense)

The extra funny thing is the devs apparently met here and he severely underestimates the popularity guys like Kentyrr have in the art threads, most of the top posters are admins, or art guys. Look sooner at when Yuno lunched his game and received such overwhelmingly positive reviews and support that people started accusing him of brigading, when in fact everyone here loves the artists and is more then happy to show them love and encouragement when they are starting out.
And lol at the twitter argument. Who care what size a platform as a whole is?! The F95 community is astronomically larger than the people on twitter that are into AVN, let alone that some, if not most of those twitter followers are probably nutcases like me that follow developers/games across all platforms rather than being twitter natives.

Guys... please! Discuss this shit somewhere else. I'm in this thread to read infos and discussions about this game. No one cares about a little bit off-topic but this here is completely derailed. Where's the problem to discuss in a seperate thread how Stone Fox Studios hurt your feelings? You can discuss there the importance of F95 for the devs of AVN and world freedom too. Maybe you'll find the solution for cancer and climate change. But please please please do it there.

The thing is, you can understand a dev being pissed when their direct links are being posted, but cutting ties with the forums for this? For the actions of a single person ONCE, a person who, after realizing what the problem was, would probably not do it again?
That is just excessive and tbh it's also irrational and yes it actually seems more like a childish fit than the reaction of a mature personality.
It's a fine game, I am glad that they used to interact with us lousy pirates here, but in the end it's not like Chasing Sunsets is in my top five or even top ten of games, I didn't spend time interacting with them much here, and I didn't feel as if I was missing out on any necessary information.
The way I see it, their game will still be shared here, those who like it and want to support it, will still do so, all that is missing is getting feedback and praise from the many interested members here (and yes, also getting shit from some).
If they can live with that, I sure as hell can live without them posting here, if that is how they react about a single incident by a single poster. Sorry, but that's how it is, and I don't care what those white knights running rampant in the thread think.
Honestly, if they hate this place and piracy and all so much, what even are they doing here?
I'd be completely fine if they left as well.

I'll just say, it wasn't once, it was twice in less than a week.
But yea, listening to your "fanbase" slam you for almost a full week for being "butthurt" over something that apparently isn't usually how the posting of pirated content usually works (I couldn't tell you why their official patreon links being here is worse than the forum mods downloading the content and posting mirror sites instead, but that seems to be the case) may not seem like enough for you to want to burn your bridges, but I guess it was for SFS.
Edit: For those wondering, this is apparently why it's worse (from Retrofire ): Seems they had to purchase more transfer quota (twice) so their supporters could download Chapter 6 because somebody kept posting the direct patron links here and leechers tore through their paid bandwidth.

If this site is such a positive to devs, walking away from it and protecting their transfer quota will have a devastating effect on them.
...Or they'll just keep doing their thing and succeeding in spite of it. My money's on them.
Either way, I'm done with it, and just looking forward to the next update.
