Well to each his own. To me it actually makes perfect sense and I've explained why earlier. You're perfectly entitled to disagree and dislike how it played out, but ditching the devs and their next game because of how you felt here is nothing short of stupid in my book.

They aren't wrong though. Regardless of how much sense it may make to you it IS a weird decision.

To have the throuple ending on Jaye's route means not sleeping with Mal.

Playing through the game while having sex with both has Mal get offered an open relationship and later Jaye offers the throuple but still results in Mal leaving.

The second route makes far more sense to be the throuple route as he would have been sleeping with both. Instead it's all "hey, remember that girl you've been turning down all game, let's bring her into our relationship for ..... reasons".

Love the game, love the solo endings but the throuple ending is the most ass backward route of nonsense i've ever seen.

Because my last playthrough was about two updates ago and my path is "open relationship"... looks like something went wrong

Really like the game, and Jaye is the hottest fucking girl on this site but the ending kind of fell flat to me. Had a bunch of buildup with a bunch of characters and the game just...kind of fizzles out and ends abruptly. Was really hoping for a big farewell scene but didnt get anything.

The game really just tossed aside a bunch of great girls at the end too and did them pretty dirty imo.

Hopefully the epilogue really kills it, because imo this final could have been 3x longer.

Yeah, I pointed out in another post, they went through all the set up for a place for them to hide for a month. Setting up the bad guys making another push, then suddenly everything was over the next day.
The whole Jaye, Mal and MC staying together could have led right into them all being together. Instead, you flash back to the bar and Jaye and Mal walk in, in that ending of course. Mal was MIA and there was no discussion with her, just BANG here I am.

Then the Bartender says 'No dust ups!' when Jaye walked in, yet the MC had just finished telling him that Jaye and him were together and everything had been worked out. Made zero sense for the bartender to worry about a fight, was he not listening to the story the MC was telling him?

The ending was very very rushed, the epilogue will not do it justice.

Honestly, they need to go back and fix the end and add content (another chapter) to fill in the gaps between them being at the lawyer's house and suddenly at the bar.

That is your thinking but not mine and I am not the only one, so there must be some sort of prpblem if many people are thinking that way.

I agree. The problem is that many players don't actually try to understand the characters' characteristic. This lead to many players expecting something to happen the way they want it to be rather than how it makes sense according to the characteristic of the characters involved. To be fair, we have been conditioned to be like this because this is the common practice in porn games where MC is the focus and every path is separate as if they don't exist in the same world. Also because continuity is a pain in the ass to write when there are tons of possible outcomes because they have tons of LIs. This is why Chasing Sunsets having only 2 main LI is able to actually have the character continuity that most other games don't. To me, this is a positive thing, but I can understand that others might not feel the same way.

And dev could of easily wrote things a little different to make things work, instead hed did the most convoluted bullshit method that makes xero sense and is stupid,

I'm sure you (and many others) would love to see MC pursuing both girls and then the three of them would become a throuple in a straight forward throuple-path like in other games. But that would lead to inconsistent characteristic where the throuple Jaye would be a different character than the non-throuple Jaye. For the purpose of consistency and continuity, this makes no sense for her character. By locking the throuple path behind the solo path, it makes sense for Jaye's character development where she grew from hating MC into being in a relationship with MC into feeling very secure with the relationship into willing to be in a throuple.

I understand it feels convoluted because there is no real throuple "path" in the game but there is only a throuple "ending". I'm not here to try to change your mind either. I'm only trying to explain that there's logical reason as to why things are the way they are.

Instead it's all "hey, remember that girl you've been turning down all game, let's bring her into our relationship for ..... reasons".

Did you use Joker mod? If yes, it has been confirmed that it messed the game. If no, turning down Mal all game would not result in throuple ending at all.

I'm going for Mallory route. Why does it immediately jump to Amanda threesome? What choice did I make for that to happen? Is there a way to avoid it?

EDIT: I also tried to have as low points with Jaye as possible without trying to kill her in the boat, but it doesn't change anything to the story.

Just some information about the upcoming updates, obviously everyone knows about the epilogue.

There will be a lighthouse mode with a guided walkthrough.

I plan to add a lighthouse mode in the update where Kent updates the art for the preceding chapters.
It will be an in-game guided walkthrough mode.
Some branches and achievements are too tricky to obtain.

First update:

To be clear, there are at least three updates left: The first will be a mid-cycle update that includes consolidation of the two divergent codebases and a massive cleanup of the earlier chapters and the removal unused images, sounds, etc.

Second update = epilogue

There is talk of "harem"

Third update:

The last will be our revamp of the first 2.5 chapters to bring things up to our state of the art. Call it the "remaster."

Oh I forgot about that, you're right Jaye sent one stateside because the island's DNA sequencer broke down. However, now that means nothing, they have already said the DNA didn't matter in how they would handle things, story about that on Jaye's side.

Frankly, the whole thing about everyone being hung up on them as siblings make no sense.
They're Step-siblings and it is 100% legal for them to get married. So, the whole incest vibe was off putting to me. The only incest in this VN was if you screw your aunt, and even then I can't remember if she was blood related or just a really close family friend.

I get the teasing, who wouldn't. But the whole oh my god we have to hide this because it's not right thing was kind of stupid. Being caught in the act and begging them to keep the secret of two non-blood related adults sleeping together was silly...

There are a few flaws in it, but every book has them. I find it easy to pull stuff apart being an author/editor, because half of what I do is look for the flaws and mistakes.

Again, all in all, I really liked the story.

How? Didnt they just give an out of nowhere throuple on a jaye path? How a harem doesnt seem to fit her? She also said what you do with mallory and amanda, i dont want to get involved in that, so that could mean she wont mind if MC gets involved with them, If mallory is already added in the throuple, how is it difficult to imagine she wont bring in Peanut a women mallory is actually attracted to? Jaye could rope in tara as well who knows? After seeing the jaye+mall throuple became true, a harem could very well happen.

Thank you for confirming this. I wonder if everyone else complaining about the weird ending is also using mod.

I never used the Joker mod, these are the requirements:

as taken from augustus' post:
- Choose to be in a committed relationship with Jaye at the resort.
- In chapter 9, you need to phone a friend to get Jaye in the John Hopkins program.
- In chapter 9, after spending time at the cabin with Mallory, tell her you wish things could be different.
- In chapter 9, when you have sex with Jaye, her love score must be 95 or higher (this is probably the hardest part) and Mallory's must be 80 or higher.

If you meet all of those requirements, Jaye will offer a polyamorous relationship option after sex. Say you'll talk to Mallory.

You can get that without Joker's mod. I did them accidentally on my first Jaye run. I imagine I'm not the only one.

People might not be realising that's what is causing it?
