Hey, first of all, thank you for the Mod, much appreciated.

I do have a quick Question though, which route is this Mod taking? Because i kinda got into the open relationship with both but in the end i somehow ended up with jaye alone. Is the mod not the "commited to both" route? Because i wanted to see that one.

Well the route that ends with Jaye+Mal throuple isn't straightforward. If you go on the open relationship with both you will end with Jaye only IIRC. For the route that ends with both the mod won't take it, and doubt it even give hints on information on how to get it, so either you check Mr Bubu PDF walkthrough that is in the OP links (that is what I did) and backtrack the variables and choices needed or you search the thread and you will find that myself and others already gave tips/resumes on how to get it.

I'll try to help you find it. Just lazy to do it with screenshots of the PDF or resumes because already did that more than once, and other members did also. There is a post that gives a much better resume than I did, it must not be that far away in this thread the last time someone quoted it.

Well I'm not sure how accurate this is anymore as Kentyr did add a way for you to get the Jaye/Mal Throuple when you do the open relationship route about a week after the release of the 9th chapter as he realised that he made an oopsie by making it so that the obvious path to getting the throuple wasn't the way to get it.

Don't think so, for what I'm aware they added an option so you could keep going on Jaye path, before the "fix" if you tried to go on their both open relationship path you would be locked out on both paths and be on the "alone" path. But maybe I got it wrong, but for what I can see from Mr Bubu PDF updated walkthrough that is what happened. I only played the last update after the fix (and my main playthrough was on both open relationship) so I'm not really sure but from all the ruckus there was on this thread because of players that were going on both paths and got dumped I think that is what happened when they fix it.

Wow yeah if that's the case I can see why they changed it. Putting you on the alone path for actively trying for the throuple, which seemed to be a valid option based on the choices given, would be a real kick to the nuts. Allowing you to instead stay on the Jaye path is definitely the better choice there.

Now onto the big reason for this patch:

For those of you who felt burned by the outcome of the casual path for the two main LI's, we know we dropped the ball.
While we feel the girls' dissatisfaction with the casual arrangement was adequately telegraphed, we also never provided an offramp for the player to right the ship. That both violates the spirit of our "no gotcha" statement at the beginning of the game, and it's objectively obvious that the result was unduly punitive.
I (Stoya) take ownership for that as the writer, and legitimately felt gut-punched the moment I realized that no escape hatch had been provided. I can only offer my word that it wasn't intentional or malicious, and began planning a fix for this the moment I realized the enormity of the miss.
As such, we are adding a scene to Chapter 9 near the beginning after the Lexi concert. This scene will provide two choices where the player can exercise agency before the girls start making decisions on his behalf.
To be clear, it will NOT add endings that were never planned for, nor does it violate the integrity of the story as planned. I also want to point out that this scene does not exist in a bubble just to change a variable. The fact that this scene occurred will be reflected in other conversations throughout the chapter.
If the player was on a committed path, the scene will offer no stat changes and they have no need to replay. There will just be be some banter and a little more visible bonding between primary characters.

TL;DR This only impacts saves that were on the casual path with Mallory and Jaye.

And oopsie on my end for saying it was Kentyr who made the oopsie it was actually Stoya but yeah.

Yep that was why all the "chaos" here when that happened hehe me included because I was on that path in my main playthrough, like I edited on my prior post. But I always wait for the games to settle down when there is a new update, sometimes also waiting for a mod update if using them. I'm not that eager to play right away the updates, mostly because I'm playing another game or have a queue to play other favorite games like Chasing Sunsets and this one only bump ahead of other not favorite games.

Edit: Actually I stand corrected from my statement before, wasn't totally correct. The option also can keep either on Jaye solo, Mal solo or instead we "dump" them haha

I popped into this thread when I saw the completed tag thinking it was finished at the time. Picked up quickly from the comments that it wasn't actually done, and the endings were still being worked on so I decided to wait instead.

Yep check my prior post, I edited it (I keep doing that to avoid double posting hehe) to correct myself and show Mr Bubu diagram of it. There is a few bugs in it, it seems but not game breaking. Probably will be fixed on the final installment.

I also got pissed but barely voiced it, only said that that path was misleading until then if you were in an open relationship with both just to get dumped, but it was fixed and added that scene fast after the feedback they got on their official channels probably. Doubt the ruckus here had that much effect hehe.

I finished it yesterday and I can confirm that this works in an unmodded (without the Joker Mod) Version (1.01 that is up here for download) of the game. I had Jaye and Mal in the Bar at the end.

Chasing Sunsets Epilogue Progress Update



Your nose doesn't deceive you, dinner is almost ready! I just wanted to take a few minutes and update you all on the final chapter.
I lost the first two weeks of June due to a motherboard failure. I came home from my kid's wedding and found my PC shut down with the dreaded "--" POST error code.
I quickly sourced a new motherboard and CPU (dumped Intel and went back to AMD) and installed new GPUs while I was at it.
In any case, this involved new water blocks, and other components that had my dev rig down about a week longer than I hoped.
I've been back up and running since Friday the 13th, and plugging away at refining the epilogue's codebase.
The chapter is currently playable from beginning to end at this point, minus sound and feature integration.
That said, during play, I became dissatisfied with the feel of one ending for a (major) path. Kent and I talked, and we're adding a scene that will go a long way toward addressing that shortfall.
I'd have even be tempted to let this one ride if it wasn't one of the three most common player endings, but since it was, here we are.
Kent is furiously working on the expanded artwork now, and I'll get it forked into the alpha build as soon as its ready.
Any new scene adds a few days generally, so there will necessarily be a short delay, but we're talking days, not weeks.
With luck, we'll have a beta packaged up this weekend and in tester's hands, with general deployment usually a few days later.
The caveat is that there's always a chance our testing team will find something that doesn't feel right or even find a broken branch. While this isn't common, we would be remiss if we didn't acknowledge the possibility.
I promise to post another update ASAP if there are any more surprises.
We're very close now to putting the cherry on this, and can't wait to ship it off to all of you to enjoy!

It will be out soon. Go read what the devs posted. Beta testing in a few weeks
