I know you said no harem ending (happy about this as well) but I have been unclear on whether the game is going to be relationship focused (my preference) or sort of open relationship where you can do whatever you want and the other girls don't care (I don't like that style)? I prefer games like Summer's Gone, Race of Life, etc. where your choices matter - the other LIs react with more realism (ie. jealousy, disinterest, etc.) when you show affection to another LI, etc. so I'm wondering if they are getting away from that completely or not?

As far as I recall from the dev stream it should be a bit of both actually. Meaning some LIs would be expecting MC to be exclusive while others would not necessarily be that strict...devs have hinted at some possibility of ending the game with more than one LI (still not harem, but pretty much like CS also gave that opportunity).

You mean the 1.10b release of Chasing Sunsets? That one is still being worked on by Stoya. He's now not committing to any date for its release, he's already quite behind what the original schedule was thought to be But soon, he said.
We beta testers have not yet received the beta build...

I also liked how Lisas character will act different in the game if she had a relationship with the MC in CS, and you will be able to load in the ending of CS to transmit that data

Vague "Summer 2026" estimated time frame is really depressing considering some of the really hot and interesting new game preview renders that have been released....nine(ish) months seems like a real torture to have to wait based on how good the developers are for story and visuals. Since the new game "Firebreak" is in development, when will a new thread or whatever be opened to discuss that game here ?

thank you for the reply, i haven't been in the thread for a few months, last time i was here we were waiting for the final update with full endings and the game finally getting completed and iirc it was very soon.
so did i miss something that requires more time or do you mean the upcoming v1.10b is the final version?

The game is completed with the full endings, that was the 1.10a release and it's available from the OP.
I was referring to the final bugfix for that one, 1.10b, which is still in the works. But it will not provide any changes to the story or the endings, only some dialog adjustments in some situations, and bug fixes.

idk why but i feel like a year ago i was playing and thought there might be a chance for that in the endings, with both MC and his sister having had their first experiences with her, it also seemed fitting. i played my main route, the throuple ending as well as just with the sister. then for fun and cause i was feeling saucy, a route where MC is constantly an asshole, just to see. but i didnt run into a single scene with MC banging the blonde, not a flashback to their first time nor an end scene with his sister. rather than go through a bunch of stuff im not interested in using a mod, figured id just ask if i missed something.

The so-called incest patch is a joke. There's absolutely no point to the story to have Jaye and MC be real-blood siblings. It kills the game, period. The whole plot of the game is based on them being step-siblings. So I can't help you there...

hello, has anyone else listened to the live stream? the devs sound really down to earth, I'm about 30 minutes into it and one question that was asked is about story vs sex scenes, in my lowly opinion I thought that this was an excellent question, don't misunderstand me when I say that I love the sex in VN games but a good story with great dialogue wins every time over constant sex, when the story is phenomenal I read every single line, the devs had mentioned that most people skip much of the dialogue to get to the sex scenes, that's probably one of the reasons why this game was so successful was because of the dialogue

I agree, Stoya has really managed to make his story and dialogs compelling and engaging, and the combination of his words and Kentyrr's artwork has been a winning formula as far as I'm concerned. As they've said themselves in the live stream, it's bittersweet for them to have to say goodbye to the characters now that the story is done (though this is not the last we've seen of them) as they've become so much a part of their existence...and that's also because of how good the end-result was. And the same feeling kind of echoes with me...

I've been replaying this game countless times (my help as a beta-tester makes it mandatory in a way) and I find myself skipping the sex scenes now...

There is no logical reason to have or use an incest patch in this game. For new players and never played and using it, they will find it out the incest patch literally ruins the game

I always wondered about that. What would be the conceit? That their parents had an affair years ago when they were both still married to other people and that the children that resulted from the affair were split up? I think that they would have to be Irish twins for it to work out and even then the math is screaming in pain. How would the fertility treatments fit in? The plot manages to both implode and explode at the same time. I've got it! They are both only half-siblings and both were fathered by the two couples cheating on each other. Jesus, this got dark really quick.

Not much that wasn't already hinted at or stated previously. They're looking at a Summer 2026 timeframe for the release (date is not committed), as a lot of work goes into the backend features and design of the GUI in RenPy. They have close to 200 renders done already for the game. More LIs (this was stated before), no Harem ending (thankfully, personal opinion of course), and more kinks to be expected, though there'll be none of the controversial ones that could jeopardize their presence on platforms. Though it was not really incest in CS (step-incest really, and debatable since the parents were dead anyway), there'll be none of that in Firebreak...

Hey, not to negate what you mentioned, you're probably more informed than I am but as I'm listing to the livestream about an hour in a half into it one of devs definitely mentioned that there will or might be a harem??? I could have misinterpreted his comment but I'm pretty sure one of the devs said this, if I'm wrong I apologize, I know you mentioned that you personally don't like harems, I don't mind them if they involve 3-4 women but anymore that that it becomes impractical, anyway thank you for the info
