I already had my hopes up for a good ending with Bianca in Chasing Sunsets. I'm not giving myself hope again for Firebreak. Honestly she deserves to be the star of her own game tbh. Chasing Sunsets DLC...called Chasing Bianca.

Well, it all depends on your level of immersion in the game. You can read it like a newspaper, or you can become immersed in the story. People can fantasize and indulge in fantasy, and that doesn't necessarily reflect their level of insecurity.

And yet somehow I feel it's because they don't experience *enough* stories (either through life, movies, books and other games) that these folks feel aggravated by the back stories of fictional characters.

Honestly, how insecure about themselves one must be if it causes mixed feelings that a virtual LI had a history with someone else in a different game? I mean, if one thinks about it, that literally, these virtual LI's are having thousands of simultaneously relationships with other players...
