No, there is just an epilogue, and remaster of the older content to make it all look the same.

They have a new game coming in early/mid 2025 called Firebreak/Fire Break, something Fire.
They are remastering as well??!!
Its been a while since i played the game so i have no idea how the quality is right now.
Any chance they could hit a quality like this on the remaster?

Not the whole game, just a small chunk and polishing it.

To be clear, there are at least three updates left: The first will be a mid-cycle update that includes consolidation of the two divergent codebases and a massive cleanup of the earlier chapters and the removal unused images, sounds, etc.

The second will be the epilogue which looks ahead at how your ending pans out. Effectively the final chapter.

The last will be our revamp of the first 2.5 chapters to bring things up to our state of the art. Call it the "remaster."

By next year at this time, we expect to be deep into the development of Firebreak.

I like the lighting on old render more. Really like they're happily playing despite the scorching sunlight.
Yeah, I prefer the old render too.
Me 3.

The old one gives off the vibe of a family enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon in the summer sun.

The new "hotness" should really be called the new "coldness". No mood, no atmosphere. Totally generic.

Had a small amount of downtime between renders, decided to try and rework one of the renders from the Prologue real quick...

Old and busted...

As opposed to all those who preferred the original, I prefer the new one. It looks like they are on real grass, instead of Astroturf. I do prefer the original sky though, where you can see the clouds and the sky is blue. But the sky only takes up a small portion of the render, so, overall, I think the new version is better.

Conversely, I think it's the new one that looks like fake grass. The old one looks like a summer lawn, a bit parched and going bare in places, whereas the new one is just uniformely green. You do get lawns like that of course, but it just looks too pristine for a lawn that kids play ball on. I think the shadows look better on the old one too. It looks like a nice summer evening.

I think the second one, except for the sky. Use the first sky, second everything else.

As for the grass, the first is realistic for a place that doesn't get enough rain and has water restrictions - so if that's where you're from, Tony, that will look more natural to you. The second looks more natural to me given where I live - not that we don't have off years or really scorching days over the summer, but it's usually more like the second than the first.

I agree. The sun was probably too low on the horizon to make realistic sense and the grass is obviously a texture map, but I can live with that when it gives a much more interesting sense of seasonal warmth to the scene. The new version really is generic, as if the home was under a dome.

The bigger issue, though, is that either image would have been acceptable, and probably should have been left well enough alone. Frankly, if there's one aspect of this game that never failed to deliver, it was the art. Trying to improve on it is an uphill battle at the best of times, so why bother? I realize a single render doesn't take very long, but when you keep revising scenes it does add up. I struggle to see how this one image could have been haunting Kentyrr for years, which makes me suspect it isn't the only one getting reworked. The fact that I prefer the original to the rework just adds insult to the injury. :(
