He's from Russia or Belarus. I think he's afraid of losing his account on Boosty, since it's the only service that accepts payments from abroad and the only Patreon equivalent available in his country. Plus, considering the recent blocking of NSFW content on Boosty, it's clear why he changed the direction of his work.

boosty reacts very badly to NSFW content, you're absolutely right about that. as for the only one... you can easily bypass all kinds of prohibitions and create your own patreon account. it's probably not the easiest task, but... I know another HasFeldt author, also from Russia/Belarus. boosty was deleted from him a bunch of times, no matter how he blurted out the preview. so the authors from Russia and other CIS countries have a strange relationship with boosty. in the end, he just somehow made patreon.
