nah, most combat actually doesn't yield a scene, just the bosses, and if you loose to a boos, you can just select the option to try again to imediatly be put before the boss. No game over screen too, so if you loose, you are still in the game rather than wait for the game over, title, load, last save...
but yeah it's not anything brilliant either way
