I m not gonna tell anyone what to do or think.
I can only state -for me this is a rip off from Eva. But that doesnt mean it cant be good.
I would say this needs permission, but anyway -if I were in charge for Cindy'sDiary I would at least try to get Eva's blessing.
Wouldn't hurt, right?

Cindy?
In the "source material" I first disiked and ignored her, but on another "crazy" route I came to like her and in the end, to my own surprise, I even chose her above the other potential partners.
That's just proof of how much Cindys paths vary, depending on where WE chose to go.
Just shows us how freakin good Eva is.

An now, here we are. Let him cook.
And hope he has the decency to seek out Eva over the"issue". Again - it cant hurt.

Does anyone has any idea about what AI is this?
I have a couple running local but none can do something good like that
just some generic bullshit
I love eva's style and would love to try generating some stuff for own projects not related to eva's like this one
and I'm fvcking incapable when drawing and I have almost no free time to learn it

Ok, Cindy is hot AF and the early sex are 2 big points, it felt a little short, though.
I'll be waiting next update...

Are you seriously suggesting that the vast majority of potential players of this game don't know the original source material? Even if he credited Eva, what difference would it make? 'Our Red String' has one of the largest threads on this site, where hundreds of people spend a large part of their lives. So I don't think the Dev crediting Eva, is going to tell us, something we didn't already know. Maybe, it would have been the respectful thing to do, to acknowledge Eva's original contribution. But this omission doesn't stop most people knowing it anyway.
Think you missed the point, it doesn't matter if everyone on the planet "knows" its taken from the other work, the lack of credit shows the type of person this developer is, someone who doesn't care, so why should we support them? The difference is that they would actually gain support by being truthful instead of pretending to pass it off as their own work. Instead, now they generate a ton of negativity and bad will with the community, and are less likely to be encouraged or helped, or trusted. A simple call out on something so plainly obvious is all we are asking, and they failed to do that, the bare minimum, so why should we support them or encourage this type of behavior? Are you saying if it were someone else's work that is less known, that was blatantly ripped off with no acknowledgment, you would have an issue with it? Then, at what level of popularity of the stolen work is ok or not? My point is, why have that arbitrary line or distinction? Everyone should just give credit when credit is do and be called out for it when they don't.

We are in a time now were the line between stolen works is getting more and more blurry with AI and art and videos and 3d models and so much more, but I feel there is still a solid line drawn in the sand at blatantly copy and pasting someones entire written work of stories, characters, worlds, etc. and pretending its yours.

On this site it's almost the equivalent of someone making a game where the MC's are Romeo and Juliet, and trying to pass them off as their creation. Everyone knows who really created Cindy's character, so the omission makes very little difference. As I said, it would be the respectful thing to do, to mention Eva in the overview. But in the final analysis, the Cindy in this game, diverges from the Cindy in ORS, and it's clear she's going to become a totally different character from the one Eva is developing. So ultimately, I don't see any long term conflict. It's up to Eva to pursue this, if she's bothered in the slightest with it, and so far there's nothing to suggest that she is.

It's not up to you or me to decide whether this is acceptable or not. It's up to Eva herself. So until she says otherwise, all this speculation serves little purpose. I never at any point, suggested that I'm fine with credit not being given to other people's work, only that it makes little difference in this instance, when most people coming to play this game are already familiar with the source material.

Hey guys. I know you are going to want to put me down for what I am about to say, but it is time for someone with a little objectivity to talk about the problem that is arising whit this developer. First of all, I am a lawyer and I like this kind of games because they show the great creativity of the human being when it comes to create stories and bring them to life. I just registered on this site and I'm really impressed with the hate this game generates, so I decided to make this post.

I would like to tell you that I have investigate if what this developer is doing is right or wrong:

1. I have seen that EvaKiss has not commented anything about this game nor has she filed any complaint against this new developer.

2. Using a character created by another developer does not imply theft. I have seen many games based on characters from already created games and enjoyed them very much (I take them as a separate universe from the original). I think that's what this developer wants to do.

3- Regarding the legal issue, Cindy is not a registered trademark (like Coca-Cola or Pepsi) nor is she a fictional character from some game.

4. I have seen games based on The Simpsons and Rick and Morty, and there is a problem, since those characters are registered by their owner and author.

5. I have visual evidence of several aspects of this game:

The art style is quite similar. But that does not imply that it is stolen. Besides, this Cindy looks nothing like the other one.
Maybe it's made with IA, although I'm not sure. What I do know is that I like the style a lot.

I've read a lot of comments saying that this developer didn't give Eva credit for her character, but I have evidence to the contrary.

I also want to comment that, obviously, he is charging for the service he provides, and since he is investing time in creating this game, he is using the AI or whatever he uses, the time of each person's work is worth a lot.

Having said what I had to say, I want to ask you to stop the hate, take life easy and let others be. If you don't like something, don't destroy it, don't watch it or play it period, but don't make the Internet more unsafe and hateful than it already is.

Before criticizing, let's support new developers. Especially, if they want to bring us more stories. Then we won't get bored. Let's give them a chance.

THX.

I can see where you are coming from and agree with most of what you say, but just let your points stand on their own. There is no need to use a lawyer facade to add credentials to your argument.

The way you write and the angle in which you approach the entire issue is so "unlawyer" like that anyone who has exposure dealing with either practising lawyers or in-house counsels will know you are not legally trained.

Your points are compelling enough, doing a flimsy lawyer impersonation does nothing but distract readers from what you are trying to impress upon.

I have absolutely no problem that you take me as lying that I am a lawyer I have nothing to prove actually, I made a simple and crude explanation for those who have no legal training to understand it, I will not make an explanation with legal terminology or make a master class to make several points clear, we are not in a trial and I'm writing as a user about something that seems unfair, judge without knowing and criticize without being right, I hate injustice. And thanks for agreeing with me, by the way English is not my first language so I apologize if you don't think I write well.

Damn, Wade really fumbled the bag huh. Cindy sounds like the kind of girl you meet once and never forget - quiet, hot, and low drama? That’s like the holy trinity :sneaky:

I just discovered another diary of Cindy's on another platform, also created by Skull. The developer there is called Skull-ve, here Skull Design. The whole thing has been around for five months, so it seems to be an earlier version of this one.
The images are slightly different, but they're also of AI origin.
The worst part is that this version has entirely AI voice acting, both for male and female characters. While the voices aren't quite as emotionless as in other games, the entire game is a complete disaster, as Cindy, as we know and love her, is portrayed completely differently.
