VN - Ren'Py - Completed - City of Broken Dreamers [v1.15.0 Ch. 15] [PhillyGames]

The only problem is I cant get enough of this, it plays like the best movie i have ever seen, if you thought Depraved Awakening's story was good, this is on another level...

Story: The most captivating story I have seen in an Visual Novel.

Graphics: Simply the best I have seen.

Sounds: They make the game come to life.

Only rate it 5 stars because i cant give it 12...

the storyline is legit good,,no half assing it..its like a CGI action movie and a porn flick f'd and made this VN,,lol...two thumbs up!!

This game is AAA quality. Renders are fantastic alongside the models. Use of actual cinematics, either using the models themselves to spice up dialogue sections, or in scene transitions, keep things fresh.

Everything appears to be properly scaled together aswell, and most environments are unique, meaning you probably won't see 95% of the sets used in other games, unlike some, where you'll instantly be able to remember which game you first saw it in.

Story is pretty well put together. It feels similar to Altered Carbon, in how things work in the background and how the city gets set up and explored, nothing truely feels like its wasted, but rather adds to the experience everytime.

My only issue is trying to figure out a good path through the game seems kind of difficult. There is a walkthrough that works pretty well in being able to guide you into making choices to boost your score with some of the girls, but nothing indicates whether it can lead to the good path or the bad path etc. Things are kind of in limbo on which choices will lead where in the future, with different variants overall not feeling that different beyond how you treat situations normaly (be kind vs be assholish etc) it feels kind of like you're going to end up at the same sort of destination no matter what you choose, except you might have just a couple of lines changed to reflect how you've acted before.

Overall, i highly reccomend this game for the art alone, the porn itself is just a massive bonus

This is an outstanding neo noir experience. Storytelling characters and render are all top class. Investigation is exciting. The suspected near future environment is something new and unique. I experienced different routes by choices and you can influence relationships with the girls differently.

Best game on this site .

I love games like this with unique setting ( not just plain old recycled school harem ) where there is an air of mystery and buildup to your fav characters. Not just 'yes girl'.

Downloaded this without much anticipation, from the very first scene Chandra at d club blew me off. Replayed every possible scenario. Played more than dozens of game on this site, of a handful of gems, this definitely is d rarest most precious. Loved everything bout this game.

In my opinion, this is the hands down best game at f95 at the moment. We know the creator from "Depraved Awakening" so it's not a surprise that they created another well-written, story driven game. Characters are amazing and so many diversities between them. This is a lot of fun while we are waiting for the triple A game Cyberpunk 2077 to release. Personally i would like to see more heroic and badass actions from the MC.

The story is cool, but it didn't interest me. I stopped following the texts from midway through the game, there are some interesting things that don't fit very well. The game is sensational in terms of graphics that this is in fact impeccable, with great resolutions, very well polished and with good quality animations. It also contains good sex scenes but there are few scenes, but that doesn't make it bad, just that the game is more cinematic. The girls are beautiful and hot, but I noticed that most contain the same body, some with big breasts and some with larger breasts. I have not seen with small breasts or any with very slim body, but making it clear that this is not bad, just an observation. The game has a unique fetish scene, so don't get me wrong I say the game has a few sex scenes, definitely as i mentioned, the game is more cinematic. There are not many options to make, no annoying mini games, the game is a simple VN that you have to follow the texts and make choice, very simple.

So, why I did give 4.5 stars?
I am editing this review, before I had given it a 5 stars rating, which is well deserved. The game has no flaws, bugs, or anything else that gets in the way. It has excellent graphics, interesting story but the game did not captivate me.
Therefore, I will give a rate of 4.5 stars for reasons of it being a little simple, but for reasons I didn't like some things. Anyway I admire the work of the artist, the way he brought the graphics to look very realistic is impressive, congratulations. Nevertheless, I recommend waiting to play a full version.

The animations are outstanding. The story pulls you in and doesn't let go. It's Shadowrun mixed with sex appeal. This game sets a very high bar in terms of quality. I just can't wait for the next content update.

This is a Review for version 0.5.1 of City of Broken Dreamers.

If you don't want to read too much, just skip to the end.

There are many Adult games out there, many of them are good.
Some even really good but i can only think of a few that actually give you more than just good looking Renders/Animations with hot Girls for you to drool over.

This Game is one of those few Games.

City of Broken Dreamers is actually trying to tell you a Story, to build a World with a past, present and future. This game tries to present you with fleshed out Characters that actually have a purpose and aren't just there to bend over and say "Yes Master".
I can say that in my opinion, the Game achieves in all of the points i mentioned. This game is still "just" at version 0.5.1, so the most i can do is give a "first impression" review of the Game.

Characters: I was very happy to see that the MC in this game isn't a huge prick. He is an Adult male that, yes, works in a shady World and has certainly done a few bad things, but you actually get the feel that he is now trying to do better things or at least trying to stay away from big trouble.
The other Characters that surround him have their own personalities and are, more or less likeable. They have their own backstory wich i find nice, but as i mentioned, it's version 0.5.1 so it's normal that they need to fleshed out a bit more.

Renders/Animations: This will be short: Excellent! This game has high quality Renders and Animations, it really is a pleasure to look at the screen, i can't think of anything negative in this department. Quality and Quantity is absolutely satisfactory!

Gameplay: I found no Bugs in my playthrough, it was a very fluid and direct experience. There are no annoying mini-games, wich is a clear + point for me. There is 1 mini-game where you need to find hidden images, but it isn't hard and you get some hot Renders as compensation, totally worth it.
Something that left a very good impression on me was the Glossary. During the game you will come cross certain names, organisations, projects etc. all related to the story, over time you will receive updates to your Glossary where you can read about all those things that were mentioned. It really helps in the process of "World building".

Story: This is what makes this game stand out. There are other games with high quality renders and animations but i can't think of many that can compete in terms of Story. In fact, i can only think of 2 and one of those is the previous game from Phillygames.
This game has such an interesting Story, that i actually skiped Sex scenes, because i didn't want to interrupt the flow of the Story.
I wanted to know what happened, how the characters are doing. I want to know what happened in MC's past, why didn't it workout between him and his ex?
Where does Victoria come from and why is she tied to Meredith and Baynard?
What happened that Kate was forced out and has to work with GDS people?

This game actually made me ask questions based on the Storyline and not "how do i get the next lewd scene with this girl?" or "When is the next sex scene? Too much text ffs".

To finish this off, i can only recomend this game. If Philly sticks to his way of making games, this will be another Homerun. This game is visually very appealing, has a great, interesting Story with great Characters and the Gameplay is fluid without any annoying mini-games or other Filler content.

Wow, this is brilliant. Better than Depraved Awakening. Compelling characters, compelling setting, and a storyline better than most sci-fi on Amazon right now. There's not really too much else to say. Play this game. Play it now.

This is for sure the most amazing game I have played on this site so far. And I have come across A LOT of them over the past two years, finished ones and those in progress. I was always more a fan of Ren'Py visual Novels.

To the main point, what you will see here, is firstly a captivating story where you simply can't just skip all the dialogue to get the spicy scenes, because you really want to know what's unfolding there.
And secondly the women are all kinda fascinating. Okay some breasts are a litte too big for my personal taste, but they are great anyways. All have a pretty unique character and background that will be revealed bit by bit so you get to know them better and aside of that... there are A TON of spicy animated scenes with the women you pursue and some on the side...
Have fun exploring!!

Story 5/5, This writing and characters keep me engaged all throughout the chapters. It's on the level of a really good sci-fi/cyberpunk series.
visuals 5/5, Simply stunning. This might be the best looking game I've played on this site, and the presentation is out of this world.

I was never a big fan of Depraved Awakening, but this time the dev is blowing my mind! What a masterpiece! Rarely you find a game that has such a great quality on everything (storyline-renders-animation-characters-writing).

I usually rate the games with a pros and cons list, but there's nothing i don't like about this game. The storyline is so intriguing that feels like you're playing an actual detective, the girls are all so beautiful and the animations is probably the best i've seen in a game here.

I can only say that i can't wait for the next update. If you haven't, i urge you to play the game and support the dev on patreon.

Very good game with an interesting story behind and very good images.
I like that the characters are quite "normal" and also the sex scenes are not overdrawn. I am curious how the story continous. Also it'sthe first story where I don't "miss" cheats, regardless of whether there are any.

I really like where this game is going and I hope to see more of it. The story is nice, not to mention the CGI's I mean it's perfect. One of a kind. Wish I could give more stars to this game. KATIE RULES!
