Given that Philly created a detective story and then a cyberpunk, it's very possible he may try yet another genre and continue to avoid repeating himself.

There are plenty of stories out there which could still have the Philly atmospherics without being an echo of anything he's done before. I'm personally rooting for something sci-fi (like really in space, not just the future) with Philly's brand of gritty realism.

I know he's also shown some interest in Lovecraftian themes...that would be amazing.

how do i update with my previous save?

There is not a patch to update the previous version with the new one 0.4.2.
You had to download from the Op the whole release ( 2,2 gb ) and after to have unzip the file in the CoBD directory , run the game.exe file.
RenPy will detect immediately your past saves ( all saves of the games are stored in a Windows directory ) and you will load the game from you last play trough.
