The first time I did that part I failed and lost a save, until I learned about drinking the potion a bit earlier and go straight through the corridors, just need a bit of skill and patience, its not hard.

That's currently, if the devs add more content between the start of the game and now it'll probably be necessary for a restart, so you can save your mom before the worse happens and she ends like that in the camp.
yes she is there, but this event need to happen in the first island/prologue before the pigs rape her.
... There is no goddamn way we'll be able to help her before we reach the isles and at that point it's already way too late. We have no resources or skills to facilitate that and those 3 weren't the only monsters there.

I don't think you can save your mom, because the monsters are the reason you flee the continent in the first place. More so, you helping your mom after she is rescued would be the more direct content. What I want to know is more about Claire's father. Is he dead? is he alive? Is he the leader of the monster army? That's what I want to know.
Considering the release time between updates and the fact that at the moment there are two out of four islands in the game, this can stretch, at best, for another year and a half or two.
But this is just my guess. Perhaps development will go faster at some point.
