I love Claire's Quest, and I've come back to it on and off since it was in it's first months of development, but it's pretty clear at this point that it's Patreon bait (and frankly looking at that monthly income I don't even blame the dev) that will probably never be finished. It's a shame, because it's pretty good, what we have, and reminds me of the tone of A Dance with Rogues which is high praise. Ah, well, just got partially finished with a fresh run... guess I'll come back in about five years and see how much has been added, lol, before the then waiting another five or ten.

Who cares if it's ever technically finished? As long as the people who subscribe are enjoying the title and the updates they are receiving, I hope the dev keeps it up for another 5-10 or more years.

i try delete the save file, and start new playthrough with the new save file, reach the valos portside or outer city i forget, where the jewelry guy at, talk to him and opening his shop and again there's no ruby and emerald, he doesnt sell it where in the previous version i remeber he sell both, is this a bug? a new feature where we should obtain ruby and emerald somewhere else? or what?, and then i try rush intrigue 10 to interact with the toilet wall at valos pub where we should get emerald in previous version of the game, but i only got 50 silver and 1 each of lockpick and knife this time, again is this a bug or just a new update so ruby and emerald is harder to get or in different region?

no one have the same issue? or this isn't a bug and you can get ruby and emerald somewhere else?
if so can someone tell me where?
the dev ghosted me both here and discord so idk if this is a bug or not

Who cares if it's ever technically finished? As long as the people who subscribe are enjoying the title and the updates they are receiving, I hope the dev keeps it up for another 5-10 or more years.

It's not so much the finishing as the speed of development, and the smartest thing being to drag it out as slowly as possible. You can see this on how more - or more accurately - how little the game has actually 'grown' over the years. We've had updates, we've had content, but they are incredibly slow and gradual to an insane degree. Entire long games have been announced and released, with single team devs, in the time it can take CQ to add a handful of scenes and if we're lucky a new area. If I (and I likely will, because it's the best with with this game) stop paying attention after my current run and go do something else for a couple of years, when I get back I'll be lucky to get another hour or two of gameplay out of the next time I check in. That's pretty grim, but entirely understandable when people are donating nearly ten of thousand a months for this approach.

Just adding this to be sure, but if all you want is a full gallery you'll need to clear the Prologue first, i think it's the only set of events that can't be opened up with money.

Skip the intro, cheat in 200 coins, head north and west to the Refugee Camp, pay 50 silver to the guy smuggling you past the fort and pay Captain Black in the Tavern 200 to smuggle you to Rathpike and done, should take no more than three minutes really if you know where they are. After that you cheat in more money as required to unlock the gallery sections of the two islands etc.

I'm only played for a few hours already.

Does the whole game have any sound effects or voices throughout the game?

Not a fan of just silence of the still images(which I personally don't have any problems with the the still images)

I'm a nerd when it comes to sound designs and I hated the sounds of silence in every situation. Also, I use earphones to play games just like any other people but I dont judge if you dont use them

Doesn't have to be specifically composed for the game or anything, there's some royalty free stuff around and this one uses the same tracks i've heard in a couple dozen other RPG Maker games so i can only assume they came free with the engine, but it's better than silence.

If i don't want sound i can always turn it off in the options, and i'd rather have that than a setting to adjust the music volume in a game where there's no music in. But to each their own.

You have to wait for 4 days or more before you go and rescue your mother. Because you have three days for Claire to rescue both her mother and Marie. If you wait longer than three days, then Marie gets raped because I believe she ended up drinking the water due to her extreme thirst. Or the boss decided to just rape her. I could never figure out how that happens. But that's how you unlock that scene.

The 'standard' version of Claire's Quest, ie. the Patreon Version, or the 'Black Edition', includes the Urchins Questline and shotacon content, and related sidequests - but not the Showgirls Questline in Valos.

The Steam-exclusive version, or 'Gold Edition', has no Urchins or shotacon content, but in it's place has the Showgirls Questline sponsored by publishers to make up for it...

Finally, 'The Collector's Edition' of Claire's Quest includes all of the above content... (not avaliable yet)

So this version of the game is "The Collector's Edition" but then why both Showgirl and Urchins Quest-lines WIP? Someone please explain this to me
