I would disagree. I believe route leaves your character with less stats or "weaker" by desing. Since it leaves the player with less options going forward. You said i better yourself: " the harder route traditionally yields better reward".
I hardly believe the developers will change this aspect of the route, even with more playtesting. But the information is precious none then less.
Good to know exactly how much you will be getting in each route.
If people are going to choose the harder routes going forward there needs to be a bigger reward. Even if it means on the harder route the reward is only more sex scenes, and better sex scenes. There's zero point in going the South Route if you're not a new player, because other than story you get nothing else out of it.
Extremely slow development time you probably haven't missed too much anyway.

That makes sense, to have more sex scenes in South Route. I would agree to the aspect that if she is taking the harder path, Claire would most likely get raped more often.

For me, i consider South to be a 'Harder' start because there's a time limit, there's a lot of gameover encounters (practically everything in the eastern part of town) and you start the Valos and Rathpike part with way less stats. Including money, because doing Rivermont lands you in Valos and you'll need to pay to get ferried over to Rathpike where the skill checks are lower.
It is indeed a harder path, though mostly because it gives you less chance to build up resources in the form of stats and money for the next part of the story. It is still nothing insurmountable though.

Has anybody a save after dodging the sinn-sith and the satyrs? I hate the arcade element of the game...

This game is ancient, it suffers from slow development, outdated engine, poor heroine model, and bad music.
Some scenes are good, but I wonder why not switch this whole thing for newer engine, better model and fresh story.

Yes... and delay any new content for another ten years, as the existing content would require a "redo," which would require additional "work"

If I remember well CQ was already remastered some years ago, before the sprites were different but I cant tell much since I started playing post upgrade. The current engine is fine, it's a bit too late now to change due to the amount of content developed and I dont think it would be easy to convert everything without expecting to bugfix a lot of issues that would definitely appear which would delay even more the release of new stuff. My only gripe is with the really small 4:3 window size, I dont expect the proportion to be changed but the devs could at least make it a bit bigger since almost everyone nowadays use a 1080p screen.
The dev commented that they expected the game to end once Clairie ran away from the invasion but the players liked the game so much that it made the project to be expanded to more places, which bring us to the current state of the game, were we wait for a new release, play for 15 minutes then go do something else while the next release comes 4~6 months later every year. Part of the reason for that slog of development is that it works well for they, the devs just need to show some pics and keep in contact with the alienated community who are in deep coping mode and defend any critics while they swim in a continuous flow of money since most patrons forget to cancel their paid support.

For anyone playing via Joiplay and having issues with the quest log try using Maldives for this game instead it seems to load better and the quest log actually scrolls
You wanted to say 1440p or 2160p, 1080p screens is something of a decade long past, the majority are switching to higher resolution. The game is so tiny I can barely see it in the middle of my screen.
It does not seem like this game will be finished in this year or next one, or the year after the next one. Most of the quests I did, told me that content is missing and you need to come in future updates.
Might as well start decent project from scratch that would be adequate for the time to come. There are too many problems with existing game and too many dead ends. The developer simply wastes his time dragging ancient game and it will take another? 8 years to complete.
The map and locations feel empty with a ton of useless NPC's clogging paths, and tiny screen size where you can barely see 2 buildings on one screen.

Hi, new to the game. Do I have to worry about hidden objects/interactables? Or does everything sparkle and I won't have to worry about missing things?
