don't tell us this game in anything more than a lazy cashgrab that will never be completed.
So this game got pretty good art, decent writing, multiple questlines with proper conclusion, big amount of scenes and content so... how is this lazy cashgrab? Might be cashgrab at this point but definetly not lazy. I understand frustration over their current pace of development but it doesnt changes the fact that this game is pretty good product on this market even in unfinished state.

Also if youre not a patron your frustration means nothing.

0.28.23 - fixed this bug. Because it does not pop up this error. But this is what it looks like to release patches for a game on a nut. You fix one thing and something else breaks earlier. In general, I recommend from the next version from a clean save to start the game. And do not carry over from previous versions, even older from the previous game engine.

You also weren't paying for a finished game, and it ain't 2010 anymore so you can't pretend to be naive about crowd funded games. And even if you weren't paying, you've gotten far more content out of this particular project than any one of a hundred other titles that had huge ambitions and burned out before they pushed their fifth update.
More content out of this particular project than any one hundred other titles? You actually wrote that on this website? I'm kind of thinking of using that quote in my signature as a joke. I get it, you wanted to reply with a comeback or something but nothing decent came to mind. Opinion disregarded, NEXT

So does Star Knightess Aura with the exception that it's a bigger game, started later and finished earlier. What is your point?

Might be a cashgrab but not lazy? Glad we agree on the first part, can't wait for you to ponder how a couple of scenes a year with no story progression and 9 years of development do not qualify as lazy.

Also, allow me to educate you on a couple more thing while we are at it.

1 - I said nothing about being "frustrated" nor did my post implied anything about it. Projecting much? Considering your previous slip of "might be a cashgrab" makes me think you are well aware of the truth. You just don't want to admit it to yourself

2 - We are not on patreon in case you didn't notice and there seems to be people upvoting in masse whoever calls out this absolute inexcusable behavior of milking supporters while doing little to no work at all for the entire year so this actually seems to mean something to many. And this is not an opinion but a cold hard fact. You may not like it but a fact it is nonetheless

I merely glanced on this title and thought to myself "AH, this game got the yearly update, I really need to go see the circus and see what's up". If you don't believe me you can waste some of your time while you wait for next update and check when was last time I engaged in this thread. Go on, enlighten us, the poor unwashed mass on how this game is actually being worked on and how it will be completed in....5 years? 10? How many years away from completion do you think it is and how much money do you think devs will make in the meantime?

We are dying for your insight ^^

0.28.23 ? 0.28.2 was released just a few hours ago, with posts on patreon and discord. Is that a version mistake or you've seen it somewhere else?

yes, this is an annoying thing, point from other sides towards the breakfast and press the space bar. I think the right spot was the one a bit further away, but will check. Face the plate and <space> breakfast.png

You can actually look up how many projects don't even deliver a quarter of the promised content and basically have nothing in the way of art and pay off before the project is unceremoniously canceled so.... yes?

And you're upset at the guy who pointed out that this fails the definition of a scam because it's not presenting anything it isn't selling to you. People can be so weird- no, the game you're not paying for isn't lying to it's customers about what they're paying for.

So does Star Knightess Aura with the exception that it's a bigger game, started later and finished earlier.
SKA has less art (WAAAAY less art), and spends way more time making you grind. It's a bigger game in the sense that you could make anything bigger if you add filler.

Dude, it was an example. I cannot list every single game on this website that got completed and was not made for the sake of itself.

You are one of those people that need hear the entire thing pure and crude or you just don't get it? Fine, here it is.

I have no doubt that Claire started as an "honest" game in the sense that devs had a vision and wanted to work on it to see it to completion, it had great hope and I genuinely liked the game. Would had definitely bought it on steam. After years and years each one worse than the last of postponing, half baked updates with barely anything at all, came the frustration first.

After frustration died, came disillusion and Claire became just another of those games to fap to last scene introduced and forget about it for months.

Disillusion died too and in the end came certainty and it's here to stay. Whatever visions devs had, they clearly lost it and I cannot in good conscience trust the development of a game that gets financially supported for 9 years and has a QUARTER of the game to show for it? Do not not even try to stutter with "b-b-but triple A studios" out of this. I gave examples of indie studios that wanted to make a game and did it. I encourage you to go on youtube and search for how Stardew Valley got made, the dev COMMITTED to the fucking project and saw it through in 5 years alone and by that I mean one single person doing everything.

Hollow Knight is a masterpiece of a metroidvania and costed under 100K to make and got 57K as crowdfunding. Its CONCEPT began in 2013 and was released in 2017. Team cherry was much smaller back then.

I could continue with other games but where is the point? Claire's quest is a resource and time sink hole, if there was any chance the game would be completed it would have done so. Best advice I can give is to enjoy what has been released and never expect anything more.

Shimobashira games (https://f95zone.to/sam/latest_alpha/#/cat=games/page=1/creator=shimobashira) is one excellent example of studio doing H-games with plenty of content and good art. This development model of supporting a game is way too easy to exploit over relying on die hard fans that can be milked at will for a decade while showing no significant nor efficient money/development ratio. I am well aware that no amount of good speeches, well presented arguments and how much of a silver tongue sly fox someone might be, some people will never be convinced otherwise. It goes both for you and me, we are not willing to move from our position anyway aren't we?

There's nothing to, 'get.' You don't understand how game development works. It's fine. Most people don't. But you should probably also avoid throwing rocks in glass buildings.

And you claim that you do? I give you facts about game development and how they actually did things. I even told you to look how a game got developed

You want to grandstand? I don't care but don't go around telling "you don't understand how things are done" when I displayed better knoweldge about the subject that you did. Take care and work hard, I'm sure the devs from this game appreciate your checks.
