Used VirusTotal and Windos is the only one that flagged it, and only Windows 11 (my 10 did nothing).

Virus type: PUA:Win32/PornTool
Threat Type: Potentially Unwanted Application (not even a virus)

So there you go. Microshit can't get an OS running properly *cough* Assassins Creed *cough*, but has time to add in porn scanners embedded deep into your OS.

Why I'm W 10 until the last second lol.
Any idea if there's a way I can do anything on my end to fix this?

I have Windows 10, but my game doesn't even start, it says it's a virus, I can't even try to start it. When I try to start it gives errors where it says it's a virus and therefore the launch is cancelled. I don't know what I can do about it to play.

FIX -
Yeah, like the clip I posted, it's still under 'Virus Type', even though the description is obviously not a virus. They just don't bother to label it differently in the message.

So if you want, you can tweak your Windows Defender. In hindsight I guess this is why mine didn't trigger (not a W10 thing)>

Open up Windows Security
Under App and Browser Control, you'll see Reputation-Based Protection.
Turn this off (mine was off, probably for same reason and done forever ago).

That's not detecting viruses, just bad rep apps, which porn or Renpy (porn game engine #1) maybe triggers.

Note:
"Microsoft recommends keeping PUA protection on because PUA software can cause your device to run slowly, display unexpected ads, or install other harmful software"
More irony for me, as that describes MS pretty well. With them updating W11 and breaking Ubisofts Assassins Creed for weeks hehe.

FYI - If you got the big red "Windows protected your PC" message, with only "Don't Run" as your option. If you click the underlined 'More Info', the magically hidden button 'Run anyway' will appear beside 'Don't Run' and thus you can continue that way also.

Can you please try to update your windows defender and let me know if that fixes it?

It shouldn't, going by his description.
I turned my Rep based protection back on to test, and I got a positive with my W10 like he did. Came back as Low thread (as yeah, not a virus) and options of what to do. But all that is dependent on how you have your AV setup. I put mine much more to user control, so I get prompts, choices etc. The default is most probably delete automatically and you're SOL.

The other one I mentioned. 'Windows protected your PC' is just for unknown apps, if it's not on MS database, I guess the message pops up. Hence the instructions how to get past that one.... No idea now MS updates thats.

I get a red message that it is a virus and unfortunately I have no other buttons or the ability to skip it. Only press the OK button. But the game does not start

Well you can try changing the Windows Defender setting if you want to.

A visual quick link.

This is the only thing I've found on the topic and I can't figure out what I can do to fix it for everyone :(

Any clue on what the update cycle is gonna be? week, weeks, month or months?
It's kind of just a hobby that I work on when I can. I don't want to promise specific dates but I'll try to put out updates every few weeks. Month seems way too long to get feedback on updates. Still getting the hang of all of this tbh

Absolutely, it will be a while before I get to dive into that route so I'd recommend bookmarking this thread and waiting.

note: From what little I understand of virus/antivirus software, this game is being flagged as a "porn tool"
That might just mean it's porn (OMG! REALLY??!! I had no idea!!!) or it might mean that it is sending some data online.
So, my big question to the Dev is whether this game sends any data online to track/etc.
OR if it does anything that might enable ads or whatever on my computer.
OR etc.

ETA. I could be wrong.
