People talk about this game like it's been in development for years... it's only the 4th update and the 2nd major update. People need to give the guy time. Its been only 3 or 4 months since initial release. Just chill and let things develope.
i am giving it time. the message you replied to was talking generally. I just asked OP if they intended something.
No harm in asking. If you worry but don't let people know your worries, it's like you were never worried at all.

I don't like it when she's submissive because that's the story's only choice. It's weird. I don't mind a submissive protagonist, but she has to have the capacity to go either way for me to appreciate her. Otherwise I feel hollow.

It's why Unholy Arts was probably my favourite adult game - the protagonist (especially the redhead) can be submissive, or she can be dominant. She can try to be dominant and fail (or succeed), or she can submit but then try to change, influence things. And, she starts as the underdog, so it's very easy for her to slip into submissive relations. Infact, on Masochist difficulty, you're more a ragdoll than a submissive, lmao.
I understand Unholy Arts is a tall ask. I don't think I'll see a game with that dynamic of a system ever again. Shame it's discontinued.

Unholy Arts was very Text like tho!

If you like that I could recommend Corruption of Champion and Trials of Tainted Space! ; P

CoC I/II and TiTS didn't have the feeling DI's Confined Valley (or at least the places we've already seen) had, imo. Plus, CoC/TiTS lack of real recurring characters makes it no good for more than a quick fap, imo. It's like, there's nothing to build on, there's no relationships beyond "oh hey, there's this lamia girl in the desert that wont instantly start a fight now that I beat her.".

That's why I'm interested in this game. It's in a school setting, so the characters should be recurring (not so tiny tangent: this is the best thing about school settings - people are forced to endure relationships - whether submissive, dominant or other - together as some overarching 'well they have to go to school' that the reader expects. You can really create a sense of shock by having a member get driven so far into despair they 'no longer show up to school' because it's such an expected part of these types of games [idea VelvetSins] - implied but not explicit or maybe explicit who's stopping you suicide) Relationships will exist by necessity, not by choice. All I wish is that they can sway either positive, negative, sub or dom.

personally, TiTs and CoC kinda fall flat as Adult Games due to the way the world works. As far as text-based games go, I'd take Lust Doll+ (rpgm i believe), Night Games (Java), or even Lilith's Throne, though that one's still not great. My favourite text adult game that isn't UA is an old RAGS game called Shield High. Unfinished and discontinued, but the potential was crazy, and the relations were good whether you were submissive or dominant. The only complaint i got on that is that sometimes the interactions during dates/sex felt a little unrealistic (novice writer-type shit), but hey.
