Just for some perspective;
Princess and Conquest just came out, a game that has spent around the same time in development (7ish years vs cloud meadow's 8 years), and its a goddamn hentai rpg. It has 20+ major characters with actual storylines, over 100k possibilities for randomly generated NPCs (that you can all have sex with btw), and hundreds of lewd animations.
What has Cloud Meadow done with MORE time in the oven? They still haven't even implemented a basic romance system and just figured out expressions. Not even expressions across the board either, I played the new update and its expressions for the MC and one other character only in the newest dialogue. They couldn't even get EXPRESSIONS right. Honestly, this game should have taken two, three years tops to make and yet here we are.

this is what you call on cloud meadow's progress are a bunch of lazy, money suckers developers at this point.

I have very low hopes for this one sentence but if it's what I think it is we might actually get more scenes that aren't like 30x30 pixels. Also here's some random shit I pulled from the patreon, whatever... It's those Shard of Virility things again from a year or two ago. I don't see these animations in the game so I dunno. I'm tired as fuck, someone else look for these in 1.4.0a...

I can almost 100% guarantee you that they will deliver the afore-mentioned 2 hd animations, at least someday. But definitely in the near future. To keep the illusion, you must deliver to the people what they really want from time to time to boost "morale" and increase the hype and hope for future animations.
Playing this game i realized that the farm has no purpose most of the mission and content are in the dungeon I guess you can keep 2 to manage 1 plot of land to keep them fed but that's about it.
I mean I am trying to build a decent farm but the game doesn't really tell me to do it so really what's the point of the farming/breeding side anyway. Dungeons earn you a lot more

If only they did more HD animations all the time, maybe the "illusion" wouldn't have been broken years ago
Apparently the illusion hasn't been broken for the backers. And that's the only thing that matters (at least for them). What we think here is irrelevant (for them at least). You know money talks, bullshit walks. And what we talk about here gets automatically labeled as bs for them.

One of the biggest problems of the game design that CM has is exactly that - town+story+dungeon have nothing to do with farming and breeding - those are just 2 separate games that don't intertvine. At least currently there's no coheseve reason for them to work together.
Right now you just take whatever unique companion is available and go dungeons to get first 20-25K gold, go through the story, increase your farm to lvl 3 and then there's no reason to go back there. From what I understand, in the future they want to implement daily life for unique companions, so they won't be available everyday, thus you will have to use your monsters instead, but I don't see any other mechanic that would combine farming+breeding with the rest of the game.
Regarding gold income balance:
breeding actually knocks it out of the park comparing to the dungeon crawling. Find yourself a dragon - breed it with various traits and skills - give it a breeding collar - volia, every week you will be selling up to 6 newly born dragons that can be sold up to 3k each. Now multiply such dragon breeders by 4 or 5 and you will get yourself 6kx3x4=72k gold a week. Once you have a dragon/chimera/crab with a lot of high grade talents you will be selling those for hundred k a week without a sweat.
Yeah, you need to get there, but tbh right now after finishing the short story there really is no point of going back to dungeoning. Eggs? You can buy them in the end of the every week fro mthe merchant or even during the week if you're lucky + they have all of types of the eggs. Stone/wood? Same thing - jsut buy them from Edeline's store at the end of the weekm you won't need much anyway. Finish the dungeon 1 time for the shards, get lvl3 farm and there's no point going back really. Rest of the game will be you trying to breed a perfect farm/killing machine with the best traits. 1 in-game year is enough to get yourself an almost perfect 1-dragon-all-farmer with insane stats that will manage all of the farm points in 1 farm section solo plus breeding such will set your gold on such a high bar that gold stops mattering at all.
I think the need for farming side of the game is to satisfy spurple's foodie needs (so that you can make foods from them and this way it is necessary for him to draw foods). As for the breeding side, it is necessary for the game because it is its main selling point. It was also important to provide a smooth transition for the backers back when the whole BS fiasco was happening. It was like: This breeding game (BS) is over. But no worries, here's a new one.
Unfortunately, unlike Breeding Season which was clearly a breeding game, CM fails to be that way. If anyone would ask: What is CM's main focus? Their answer should be a definite: I don't know.

So, let me answer my own question for others who may be interested. No new hd animation, only a few "small" one. And after about 10 minutes of gameplay I got a fatal error. Guess the wait is on again.

basically the "new animations" they announce are basically the pixelize small version 1:1, not the hd full scene animation anymore....
so expect less in this game
