As somebody who himself has never actually played this, would this be worth a one time play for a brand new player in its current state?

No, it's gross, and everything is disjointed and unfinished. Basically it's not a game, it's a bunch of bullshit loosely connected to and surrounding graphic pixel art smut animations, which if that peaks your curiosity, go for it, but there are actual good games with erotic content that you could play instead.

To me, this "facade" of a game is specifically tailored & designed to keep you hooked for at least 2 hours (because you won't be able to refund them after that)

All the disjointed features are specifically tailored to look great on steam store and patreon's product/front page, like a lanternfish that baits u into clicking that buy/support button

To do that you need to breed same species non stop no crossbreed,mean you need an item there's 2 bronze one that lower feral if breed same species and other 2 can be found in dungeons it's silver has better feral suppression it took me hell of time doing that save and load because i don't use mod back then.
Another tip if you want that hatchling spawn with ability you need just do save and load till they spawn with ability you need,some species had their own unique ability mean you need to breed with each other rill reach level 5 ability before crossbreed.
Always remember after you got the egg sell their parent and get new same species from Egg vendor or buy them down that rude cat vendor.
Don't hatch the egg first see if vendor have male dragon as example,just do save and load at the hatching place till female dragon spawn in with ability you need it took time without mod.

Thanks so much for the help, I've been playing for a while and I still haven't gotten good stats because I hadn't thought about saving and loading and I've never used any mods either xd

the person who made this game helped on another game that was also about breeding etc. but scammed the developer of that game who then stopped while he made this game

i think he was responsible for the graphics and the actual developer didn't had any like contract made and only worked with him on trust basis so the guy who made the art then claimed copyright so he could make his own game

but it's been like over 10 years or something so i can't fully remember the details

If like five years ago they had cut their losses and decided to scrap the dungeon crawling aspects and make this an actual successor to Breeding Season it would be finished by now. Also it's hilarious that the justification for this game replacingthe monster on monster animations with sprite sex was that it would consume too much animation time ... only for them to spend crazy amounts of time on the battle animation. They could have at least devoted that energy to more NPC sex scenes.

There are plenty of good farming games and dungeon-exploration games out there. There are NO good finished breeding games out there.

Dev is completely missing the point of unique selling proposition and focus on the wrong appeal of the game
(this is of course assuming that they're not deliberately using the sex as a facade for the milking scam)

It's in \Appdata\LocalLow\Teamnimbus\CloudMeadow, if you don't have the Show Hidden Folders option enabled then you can reach it by opening the start menu search (or Win+R) and typing %appdata% then step up one level from there to find the LocalLow folder.
