Honestly I get what the dev is going for, but they're kinda shooting themselves in the foot.

So much of the exploration is ruined by straight up crashes and finicky item-in-the-environment selection. How am I supposed to explore and find solutions to problems when ive experienced more crashes then progress? Ive tried to play this game for legit hours and gotten nowhere. Ive been trauling through the thread looking for information to absorb by incidental happenstance and found out that ive just ignored areas due to bugs and experienced essentially like 25% of the game. Theres also the fact that sometimes I might be off a pixel and not pick up an item, so I then cross off that solution as a legit answer to a puzzle.

Oh and I found the talking invisible tree before progressing anywhere in the forest. I legit found that shit before progressing at ALL lmao, its been a couple hours since and I havent had any progress but I found the fucking tree im not supposed to.

Im not great at puzzle games at all, but when your bugs obsfucate the answers to solutions, maybe solve the bugs first. (I think the game is starting to shit itself cause ive looped so much)

i want to know where the story goes with this game but i cant with the puzzle all 3 dream area just get really confuseing or feel like impossible to get past/ make progess. in the lab the squidrabbte no clue how to get past i asume i use a gun which i also dont know how to open to get but i see it past the level 1 door . in the manor i finaly got to paint the book 3row 3rd secontion or something 11th book. whent to the libary in the mannor clue nothing triggerd whent to the school libary and no clue if i needed more info but nothign worked there. how are you suppsoed to make any progress

the update is amazing and I like to figure out stuff on my own and try to see what works and what not. this is the best TG game I played so far, yes there is a but.... this new area of the game is the most confusing so far. I get the idea that there are tons of mushrooms and I need to figure what each do, but there is this damn annoying mushroom which is completely random. One time it takes away from my body bar and I think to my self ohh this must be deathcandle and the next time it takes away from my mind, give me stamina, takes away from my stamina, or outright does nothing. Like wtf is this damn mushroom?? and yes I tried to name it every time I get it because I thought maybe the texture is fucked up and they are actually multiple mushrooms but no the name resets every time I take it again. Every time I take a new one, it is always ??? despite how many times I name the previous ones I took. I really like the new area but this single mushroom ruined it all for me. Also, the tree that gives u the key, it disappeared when I took the key from it in just one dream, it seems I can't find it again nor the key for the rest of dreams I go into. I don't know if those two things are bugs or just designed this way, I hate them either way (I tried to start a new game but those issues are still present, so I might be missing something and this is the actual design. I would really appreciate it if anyone explained this new area for me because I think I spent enough time losing my mind trying to figure it out.)

(I tried to start a new game but those issues are still present, so I might be missing something and this is the actual design. I would really appreciate it if anyone explained this new area for me because I think I spent enough time losing my mind trying to figure it out.)
The mushrooms in the looping woods are randomized in appearance in every newgame but remain consistent in the same playthrough, so over time you can document all the types.
Once you have the Classification Tome you can permanently identify every kind except for the following four: Dreamshroom, Deathcandle, Mindsap, Echo Fungus

But you already knew this if you read the notes in the journal, the first couple entries are pretty much right there, Page 1 next to the book and Page 2 in the hut.
The trick to identify them is as written, Deathcandle glows at night, Mindsap is blue in rain, Echo Fungus has a deep tone play if you sit on it.

In case anyone wants to be a dirty cheater, here's a CE table. Only works for 20241227v8 by default. Modify Base Offset's address to +0 and it'll work with v4. I'm sure there are better ways to do this, but that's too much effort.

I dunno I still like this game and see the potential with the different areas to explore and the story line from the school.
and the visuals are a welcome change from rpgmaker and AI generated stuff.
maybe to satisfy the people who are having issues with the puzzles, with a difficulty switch or a certain amount of passed time in an area gives them a clue?

ok so now im lost i can get the level 4 card into the lab but then what what do i do from there i kari is no longer there i can get 3 componds but no clue where to go from there also is ther anything to do during shcool or is it just wait until eveing

My man, me having criticisms of your game doesn't mean the game is awful. Im not hating on you or your work by giving my 2cents. Again, I think the game is good but the game breaking bugs takes away from what youre going for.

For example the way to get into the mansion doors was broken last time I played and there was not an indication what I was doing was either wrong or right. It just didnt work. As per your recommendation to restart a new save for your new patch, it worked. A totally unrelated thing to what you were patching in.

I have had repeatable crit errors at the club and several times when sleeping. I keep multiple save incase I need to fall back, but its happened about 5 times so far in this new playthrough and each crit error will persist after the save nessitating an earlier save. Which is why I was talking about bugs.

EDIT: 2 last points. I wouldnt have bothered commenting if I didnt think the game was worth it, and im not upset the game is difficult.

Where are frost caps? Last note points to two areas: gray thing with horse (but there is no shrooms) and white tree (nothing around, edible doesn't work, chopping & digging doesn't work. Second island has sparks, but these doesn't work too. Can it be related to that I've failed to destroy mushroom cluster?

no clue if it is a bug but in the lap i cant get into a room thats right next to the rabbit squid yet when i go into the room i can see it threw the wall the door opens but i cant go in like a wall preeventing me

but it never rains! and that one which glows at night gives random effects every time I eat it. and that key tree? I never saw it again after the first time. Also where do I get the classification tome? anyway I will just wait couple of days and get the patreon version. s/he deserves my support anyway

Also Unnie, would you mind turning down the basement SFX to the same level as the ambient forest SFX? I have my volume turned up to try and listen for Echo shrooms but it's really loud in the basement by comparison

Problem with the puzzles doesn't seem to be as much the hard difficulty, but that we don't know what should we be aiming for. Without some kind of goal in dreams the puzzle seems meaningless. It's basically whenever i discover way to get to a room or get some item it's always "so... how does that help me?"
