I don't know what inspires more confidence: The idea that they've lost one of the main creative leads for their project and are looking for a replacement, or that they've been working on this game for this long and just now decided that a lead writer might be a desirable hire.

I'm perfectly fine with how the story currently goes. At least there are some meaningful conflicts between main characters. Not just some random guy saying some passive-aggressive shit to pull out dramas.
Replacing a lead writer means potential changes in narrative and yet another change of personality in multiple characters, which is something this game has been suffering from *Chuckle*

My guess is that they have decided to divide the job that the current lead writer has. She's currently the Lead Writer, Lead Editor and Plot Designer.

Yeah, the bigger the game gets and the more story paths, the more bugs and problems. Act IV had so many problems, especially with saves, that this was proberbly the only way to fix it.
A lot of people don't realize just how hard it is to make a game like this and release new content often.

this was one of the greatest games out here until act3 .. sad ..

The writing is done as you go, which destroys consistency.

What's going on with Emily is ridiculous. They don't know what to do with her anymore, so they send her away.


We have the impression that the game follows a single road, and we just have dialogues or small scenes that are different or additional according to our choices.

This has the effect of making a lot of totally ridiculous moments:

- you can't choose who to invite to the concert

- you are "officially" in a relationship with Chloe, Lindsey still asks you for help against her, and you can accept...

Apart from the sex scenes according to your choices (you choose who you fuck), and possibly the scenes relating to the two fraternities, the course of the story remains on the same tracks each time.

The same happens in other college games with an extensive cast. No matter what you pick at some points the games force some plot related stuff on you. I would be happy just exploring all kind of kinks with Chloe but the game is not only about her.

It vanishes eventually. That is showing the current filename and line number it is executing code on. I actually used it a few times to look some things up that was happening. It's a debug mode of some sort. I want to look into how that was enabled as I found it VERY useful.

In your example, that is from the file "game\v1\v1.rpy" line 84 which (checks file) is the part that prompts you for your character's name. If all your files are in an RPA, you can extract them, I always do and then delete the RPA as the game will still run with the source RPY files, and you can reprogram them (they will automatically compile at runtime)... if you can program that is.

Okay, that didn't take long! LOL... I created a simple patch that disables that display. Just download the zip (7z) file I have attached to this and unzip it into your game folder (zzz_patch.rpyc should end up inside your game folder) and you won't be bothered by that again. It's a very simple patch, won't negatively effect your game, it just disables developer mode.

Anytime. I'm glad you mentioned the problem. I figured out what was happening and used this to help me in debugging my own game, VERY handy to know the exact spot in the source code a problem resides. I made certain to disable it in my own code when done coding though.
