Yeah i would HATE if MC would be a clone but i think sam being the father is more reasonable, Sam mentions again and again towards Nael that he knows how it feels to be unable to do something when your loved mortals are in pain and that he understands how he feels.
Which could indicate that he watched the MC and Gab in the past and right now. They are both bound to not intervene its just that apprently nobody is strong enough to enforce these rules on Nael (probably? maybe? or maybe there is someone?).
Gab and Nael were obviously aware the whole time and secretly manufractured the MC/Noel connection from the very beginning as it looks like.
Oh and yeah, bridgette is SUPER adorable and pretty! Am a fan of jacky's new design too!

someone could say that the man could be the future self from the MC as he ascended to godhood by getting to powerfull as a rulebreaker with to many Dark Ones,but i think that is not true here.
