ok just to warn all here this is not a real update to the story. its a ntr-phone story game (and yeah even has ai in it) that ami plays on her computer.

To be fair, I don't even think it's such an unexplored journey to begin with. I admit that I'm still fairly new to the whole AVN world, but I've already tried my share of different games, and I could count with only one hand those games whose take on a FMC being lesbian isn't filled with a load of doubts ("I can't be gay, right?", "There's no way I'm into girls", etc.)
Sure, yeah, some lesbians in real life might've gone through a journey of self-discovery, wouldn't have been sure of their sexuality, were afraid to open up due to social constraints, there can be many situations. But I honestly don't think it is the norm by any means. The majority of my closest friends are gay, lesbian, bi, demisexual... and there's only a couple that weren't certain of their sexuality from very early on. Like you said, not everyone finds interesting a journey of "I'm supposed to be straight, let's flirt with men, fantasize about them, date them, etc., only to find out in the indefinite future that MAYBE I might be into girls."
If you don't want to sell her as lesbian from the get-go, there are many ways to do so without recurring to men. For instance, it'd be cool to have her doubt herself from the beginning. Sure, taking for granted that she should and does fancy men, but then someone asks them to date one and suddenly she doesn't find it appealing. Or, some friend shares her experience with an ex, and she finds herself thinking about her friend and not focusing on the guy. Or the same while watching porn.
There are many ways to explore an only lesbian path without excluding the men (aside from the romantic and sexual aspect) from the story. Then again, these are just rough ideas, and in no shape or form is a way of saying "hey, dev, you should do this." It's just a PERSONAL preference and opinion. Honestly though, 90% of straight routes in FMC games are utterly DISGUSTING for my liking, which has made me realize that the only way I enjoy playing as a female character is sticking to a pure lesbian route (if available).
I think one of the issues in many AVNs that try to tackle lesbian routes in FMC games is that many of these devs are straight males. And I'm not saying it as something pejorative, I myself am one; I'm just stating that this influences the way they try to approach certain scenarios, many times due to a lack of exposure with lesbian or queer women in general. Perhaps they're not properly informed; maybe they think of themselves being interested in men, realize that this would take a long journey of experimentation and hesitation, and thus reflect that on the journey of female characters.
In the end, you end up having a mixed bag; you constantly have the promise of lesbian interactions, but those are only a small fraction (if there are any) of the bigger picture, which in turn is a male fantasy of 'corrupting' a cute and sort of 'innocent' girl, making her and her friends lust for some good-old dicking. I'm not saying this is the particular case of the game, but you already have your friends pushing you towards dating guys, flirting with them, having naughty thoughts about them, voyeur scenes with only straight sex... Meanwhile, the lesbian path is just "hmm, I'm not sure, maybe I'll fantasize about a girl once every blue moon."
Then again, the original idea of the game was actually to have a pure male-female focus, and directly or indirectly that's what the game is starting to depict, even if there was a promise of a smaller but still pure lesbian path. Like you said, the best for a dev is to stick to their vision instead of trying to cater to all of the audiences, because that might 1) result in a clusterfuck or 2) them doing something that they're not that comfortable with.
Nonetheless, since in this case it was promised that there would be a path that would appeal for those like me looking for a lesbian focused-story (romantically and intimately), it doesn't seem like the journey (at least for now) is worth it, especially considering some events you're forced to go through. Yeah, sure, I can decide if I don't like how the date with this guy unfolds, but the problem is that I don't want to go on the date in the first place. Imagine the opposite: you want to play her as an hetero woman, but you're forced to date a girl because some characters (and the game itself) pushes you to do so. Players that don't look for that content would be uncomfortable, right? Well, the same applies here.

From what i've just been told, this update is just a side story but instead of the uploader adding it as side content they deleted the links to the main game from the OP and just added this side content.
Until it's fixed you'll have to search the thread for the actual game.

". Yeah and thats what I did.Also I don't see any fucking report, so we can put the last version back. Luckily I fucked up the wrong search and saw something mentioned about the only playable version was my compression.
I actually think the Dev fucked this update up. Cause all the files of the full game are still in, I bet something went wrong and start new game shouldn't instantly jump to that Side Story.

OK, I thought I was just too stupid to find the old content. But apparently it's no longer accessible in this version, only a side story. Looks like a bug to me, as the media of the normal game seem to be still there. My guess: For development the developer made the game jump right into the new content. Later he forgot to fix this. According to the development notes, it's supposed to work like this: Play the entire game to the end, then start a new game and get the extra content. But I can't have played the entire game to the end because previously I had only version 0.4. And not being able to play the entire thing from the start without a save from the very start would also be a bug, anyway.

The old content is still there, you just have to use your old saves and you can play it. The problem is that you can't play the game from the beginning and you're forced to play the side story. This, by the way, doesn't appear as a bonus in the main gallery, but has its own separate one, which is a crap result.

Yes, because even if Ami can fantasize about Jessica, the lesbian path isn't available yet.
And lot of players who like lesbian route were disappointed that you can't avoid dating a guy in the previous update.

Can't say he was entirely wrong, some lesbians do look far too masculine. I don't think some of them grasp the fact that the reason some of us like other women is we are attracted to femininity. If we wanted a big butch skinhead we'd be straight.
