The ending felt pretty flaccid, which is a shame. It's unfortunate that so much of the game was spent focusing on what could be labelled "trauma-farming" rather than developing the characters. I feel like the relationships barely evolve past the beginning, it's just the same with some sex. That isn't even mentioning the fact here are some characters where you have all of one scene with them, before the ending decides to completely remove any progress. It makes the entire game feel stunted when you basically end up at the same place, regardless of the very liberal use of the word "endings".

Biggest positive for me was seeing the clear development in skill visually over the course of development. Hopefully the next project has more focus than just a general theme. This quality of visuals with a good character-based or story-based script could be fantastic.

Thanks for your feedback, and I appreciate the time and thought you put into it. I have rationales for why the story is as it is, but you don't want to hear my justifications. Just keep in mind that this was a trial-by-fire first effort, and I hope to show what I've learned in the future. Thanks again.

Thanks! I don't know if there will ever be a Part 2, given that Confusion hasn't yet achieved any real penetration (pun unintended) in the market. That, and given the way Confusion ends...I suppose you could say that I left things open for a "Confusion-The Next Generation" plot line, but I think the story is told.

That said, I'm not abandoning the subject matter, just the particular characters and situations. University Trans-fer will also feature gender dysphoria as a main plot point. At the same time, I'll also be working on a more mainstream "vanilla" title at the same time, to try and make up for the relative lack of interest in the subject. I'm working on an outline for a story called Forgotten that I see a lot of potential for. News at eleven.

I don't think Confusion needs a remake. Sure, there are some scenes, especially early on in the story, that could be improved and I'm actually doing that for the Steam version. I'm also adding back in a couple of trans-male scenes that were originally in the story but cut for time. But a remake? No.

Enjoyed both experiences.
Though.. I think I was kinda hoping there would be other romantic paths besides just Chris at the very end of it all either in way of Harem or individual paths but it was still pretty good overall. Looking forward to whatever next work you have planned.

I hope to never provide "sissyfication" as a tag. That's kinda the whole point of Confusion--showing that trans people are, um, people too. They have the same desires and light/dark thoughts as they are "normal." Gender dysphoria isn't about "becoming a sissy" any more than depression being about perceived laziness. As I hope was demonstrated by Alex's choice in partners.

That said, University Trans-fer is about a young man wrestling with what would be diagnosed as gender dysphoria, and eventually deciding whether or not to transition. His sexuality doesn't enter into it, except to provide more fuel for his dysphoria. Forgotten won't have any such element in it--if there is a trans character in the story, it'll be about an NPC just happening to have that trait.

Thanks. Yeah, lots of people have a problem with that aspect of the ending. The interactivity was layered on top of what was originally a kinetic novel. Future projects are being developed with interactivity in mind.

However, towards the end, things suddenly started to rush along very quickly. It was basically like jumping from one drama to the next. For ages, Alex was unsure about her sexual orientation. And then, suddenly, everyone wants her cock. And just as the game has finally developed to the point where all her problems are solved and she can finally live the way she wants, the game is over. In that sense, there was no up and down, no dramatic twists and turns, no building arc of tension leading to a finale, but rather, once reached, there remained only this dramatic climax. Then finally it was all good, happy ending but we mostly only get to see text about it, not much about life afterward.

So yes. Overall, it's a good game. It could have done with a few more updates, some tweaking to make the few good moments even more enjoyable.

As I've said many times, the "game" isn't about touching every single possible touchpoint. It's about playing as you would react to situations and experience the outcome. I thought about putting a message to this effect at the beginning of the story, but it felt like it would detract from the immersion.

If you're really that interested in seeing what leads to what, you can just unren the game (that works fine) and see for yourself. And it would take a lot less time than multiple playthroughs.

Thanks for the kind evaluation. I have a real problem with VNs that just seem to keep going on forever. I know why devs do it--if they find a formula that works, they won't want to take a chance on jeopardizing the steady support they've garnered on Patreon and SubscribeStar for a new project. Confusion was always meant to be a short story. Well, a novella maybe. It follows a fairly standard Hero's Journey template. It's a ten-chapter story--Alex confronts her sexuality by the end of chapter 5. By the end of chapter 6, Alex is content and has come to terms with herself. I would consider that an up, no? But then she's forced down another path after chapter 7, and the rest of the story is about her coming back once and for all.

The plot points are simplistic. The few sub-plots through the story, like Kevin's motivations or Zoey's affectations, aren't exactly hidden to the point of being a surprise by the last chapter. But that's typical of short stories, unless your name is O'Henry and your story is predicated on a surprise plot twist.

This wasn't a SOTP effort. The story and dialogue was written start to finish before I ever started rendering images. Sure, I modified some of the dialogue when I added interactivity to the story to make it make sense. But the story is unchanged from the original, which is why there is really only one main path at the end. Is it the best story that can be written? Hardly, and I've been, um, "told" by some that it's not very good at all. Are there ways it could have been improved? Absolutely. More sex? Maybe, but I felt that adding more sex just for its own sake would have detracted from the story overall. But I would push back and say that no one can ever meet everyone's expectations. And all I can do is provide the best expression of the story that I wanted to tell. And, that I hope that I'm improving with each release.
