Anyways, thanks for being interested enough in Consort to give me feedback. I've taken note of your point about the scene being too jarring, though on the other hand the whole point of that scene is to be jarring.

Well, I can't say I agree with you. In fact I'd say maybe you don't understand what ntr entails. You set up an antagonist that was plotting to make the MC's life miserable and went after his fiance to further that goal. Whether she was coerced through some devil mind trickery or threat (coercion is not infidelity. she wouldn't have done it otherwise) or she did it willingly because she wanted to (actual infidelity or cheating which kills her character for me if this is what you are saying. Also I want revenge) this set up and execution is textbook netorare. either way. Look it up.

Sounds like what you showed here man...Whether it's the first or second. What you are trying to pass off as "only cheating" is not separate from netorare...
This is one reference point but it's the same on this site and anywhere else you look so uh...don't know what frame of reference you are using. I could link various others but I think this is adequate to get my point across. Maybe you were thinking of cuckoldry? Well that falls under the NTR umbrella too i.e. netorase. You would be correct because what you have shown isn't that, but it is still netorare.

I was only willing to look over it because it was at the start and is used as a catalyst for the plot. It was early enough to be a flashback but it still wasn't and way too much detail was shown.

And yes it was jarring. That is generally what netorare is used for. I mean, who wouldn't be shocked by that? So big surprise that it had it's intended effect. It is not a novel plot device or one that is particularly challenging to employ either. I do like the angry options you gave us though. Felt natural.

What I didn't like was that the dev didn't seem to be quite sure what was going to happen next in the story.

You either have a vision for your project, or you don't. There is no third option.

And if you have already decided to change that very scene, then I advise you to peep into the game "making memories". There's nothing similar to those two games, other than the MC walking in his significant other cheating on him. In that game the wife is not a LI (she even leaves the city after a while) and you only get a glimpse of that guy, while here you get the option to forgive the fiancee right after that scene, so she's obviously still a LI, and the dude seems to be the main antagonist...

This site defines netorare as "Designed to cause jealousy by having the romantic interest involved with someone other than the MC."
The MC walks in his fiancee getting railed by the antagonist... You can't get any closer to that definition, even if you try!

it was a while since ive played first release that was this intriguing and with such attention to details.
this isnt story for children, happyfappy "players" and similar, yet im sure if you continue with similar quality this can grow and become one of the best AVNs around.

btw, im neither harem nor netorare lover, more like player who prefer games with real choices and paths.
in that regard im not minding some scenes if the story requires it, so i have absolutely no problem with that scene you have been attacked for by an angry non-ntr/harem mo (btw, it is a classic theme around, so dont mind it/those)
moreover, in my game im gonna try and keep mcs fiance if possible (despite the fact that im usually against predefined gfs/fiances/wives, yet she is just too good in every way to be left down the drain).

There is a nonsensical incentive the antagonist wants to instill on MC,
but the game makes MC literally disintegrate into nothingness.

There is nowhere to go. Strip bars where guys get drunk and blow their money away
are literal dumps where all life is broken into little pieces and souls get ground to dust.

MC is the boss with a huge condo, but he leaves the cheating hoe in there and moves to a desolate hotel, with nothing to wear, nothing to do, even tho the antagonist brainwashed him.

So MC is a loser on all fronts and his reaction is to- abandon everything and everyone and go drink himself to death in a strip bar ... The antagonist is so much of a dumb fuck he literally destroyed
any chance he had of MC ever meeting any other hottie, ever, then brainwashed MC and
made him into a dumb idiot.

MC admits thie fiancee is the only girl he ever got close to, only to find out she was sicked on him
by his employees who wanted MC off their tails and head over heels with her.

So the whole setup is there to proove MC is the worthless brain dead cuck to ever live.

MC wants answers but lets the cheating hoe keep the penthouse to cheat some more.
MC was literally fed the cheating hoe by his employees to make him lose his streak.

Cheating is unforgivable. Personally, in my playthrough, I threw her to the curb.
On the other hand, that daemon dude erased the MC's memory with a snap of his finger. I'm just sure that he fucked with her mind.

Yea, this is what I thought about the scene as well, and have said as much in a previous comment. I chose to give her a chance to explain, because I was hoping there would be more information given but I will have to wait and see what the dev does with it.
In the mean time though, because of the whole argument with the 3 letter tag the dev insisted on the point that is was "plain old cheating". I was neutral about the reason before but seeing that, shifted my opinion.

I would not use that word to describe a situation where someone acts outside of their relationship because of otherworldly influence or other types of coercion. If someone is held at gunpoint or lets say mind controlled or otherwise not allowed to act on their own volition would you label them a cheater? Probably not right?
So why would the dev?

Perhaps the wrong words were used or the dev was trying too hard to defend it as not ntr, but whatever the case, the information we have available...just isn't enough to clear her of wrong doing. Other than assuming that this is the story and all will be revealed in due time. Ofc you could just go with that.

Well, I usually try to stick with them. Even when It's clear they are intended fodder or side content, as long as they aren't actively unpleasant then I usually dont have a problem with them. Though given your earlier statement about your lack of a specific preference in games, and the fact that you are a "game compressor" then perhaps I just have not had the displeasure of encountering many of them.

I want to believe that the dev didn't just throw her under the bus for shock value. Some things would suggest otherwise, like how they met, her apparently going against friends and family to be with him, those are solid points but a lot can happen in 3 years. Idk. What if the devil set all of that up as a long con just to mess with the MC? All baseless speculation at this point.

Looking at the present evidence...Judging by the dialogue ("MC! What are you doing here...He said you would be at the office till late...I can explain") and the comments by the dev. It's not looking good. Unless the devil was also making her say those cliched words. Plausible maybe.

I hope whatever justification is presented makes sense and is not a cop out. Hell of a way to introduce a character...

Agreed. Good luck with the game, Developer, it really is unique when looking at other more basic stories, but the Main character has been way too pathetic for my taste.
