I don't see any point in Clara leaving Alan for the story. they could have sex with others without having to separate them, and you have to find someone to blame so people don't get so upset with the main characters' decisions.

I've a hard time truly digesting the AlanxAnna angle. Let's take a step back and look at this objectively. Yea Clara is no angel- she has flaws, but so does Alan. It takes experience and patience to make a marriage work, so neither are bad actors here.
However the situation is uniquely weird. The couple needs to talk it out, but they can't cause- "duty". And then there is Anna. Even before she became aggressive after witnessing Clara at the cinema, her character was on wobbly grounds. She was clearly infatuated with a married man, an already negative factor, and then she started collaborating with another negative force cause she convinced herself that "Alan deserves better, and no one is better than her". Her personality is so twisted now that she even views Alan's mother as an eyesore.
Even if Anna manages to pry Alan away in the end, I highly doubt it will be a, "they lived happily ever after". Especially if Alan comes out of the ordeal a broken man cause I sincerely doubt Leon just intends to end it all by snatching Clara. Even though a lot of story elements are still a mystery, his motivations are sadistic and the way things are unfolding, I do not believe Anna is going to get the happy ending she is dreaming about. In all likeliness, she is a pawn and will be thrown away like one in the end.
