I doubt he will forget the characters he build over several years now (right?) but the fear lies in how they are re introduced I think. If it is true I read that after act 3 the game is basically done and only epilogue will happen. The screen time during it can only be limited.
Now is the whole act 3 only war or only a segment of it and we go back to the old style at one point. (I doubt both)
I highly doubt that he'd do that too....and the fact that they might get re-introduced.. Kana and Annie better be fine or I'll so riot!
As for the Act 3 final Act part, Well that's what the future has to decide for us.

Arc did not get rid of them, it's just that they went missing due to the WAR that's out there, we'll run into them eventually!

Well basically, The Dev changed how the battle system since people complained how grindy it was...and he did make it MUCH LESS grindy!, which led to major changes on how Act 3 is progressing rn!
Read the updates changelogs for more details!
