Arc was always flying close to the sun with Patreon and his wings finally melted. There's always been a rule about no sex involving kids. Meanwhile Quariah and Lyx exist, you get a BJ behind the couch where Chloe's sister is playing videogames, you peek on the two of them while they're sleeping, you've got the "college" full of innocent 14 year old virgins, you fuck Renee and Julia (mother & daughter incest, another patreon no-no) on the bed at the same time, Madison & Veronica, etc etc. There's probably more, those are just the ones I remember off the top of my head. I doubt 'Shatter' made them happy either.

The game is full of violations of Patreon's rules and they finally took notice of it.

Found out what the excuse they used was, it was due to Quarinahs "apparent" age, and the fact that the MC got blown behind the couch while Chloes' sister was playing the video game.

I said that, but it's not confirmed that's what Patreon took issue with. Dunno if they ever say exactly what the violation was, just "fuck you, go away and we're keeping your money".

It is theft, but it is also standard practice of banks and payment processors.
They have been doing it for a long while now and getting away with it.

Hey man. I literally randomly noticed that patreon has blasted arc from its site so I came to check this thread out again.

Not gonna lie, reading through his subscribestar post and the mention to redo literally every asset and models and revert to base koikatsu would have killed the game right there. With the thought alone.

I know Arc is standing with its back to the wall but changing everything for the off chance that the steam version blows off is wishfull thinking. Lets be real here.

Just look at the shitstorm that came with removing content and implementing the battle system for act 3. Imagine now what will happen if arc goes through with his idea. Not to mention the setback of development with this.
It will not work.

What will the game even look like without mods?

I know that life was comfortable with patreons money but look at subscribestar and his income. He is already at almost 4k per month again. This is something I can only dream of and I am also still alive.

As harsh as it sounds but the dude need to buckle up even if he does not reach 4k by the end of the month. Going to steam, with the idea to change everything at least, will implode the whole project and then he has nothing.

I'm not crying about it, I though it was interesting and felt compelled to write about it. I'm just gonna drop the game its not really a big deal.

1. I'm not gonna go read meta-text. Either put it in the work or expect it to be missed. I don't really take issue with things being ominous or left to mystery. Its literally the opposite. I'm ok with the mystery the author just doesn't actually handle the mystery well.

Alright. That's your taste in stories and that's completely fine.

2. That's kinda the thing, he only every asks about it mom. He never does any footwork to learn about this stuff on his own. The story is framed as an investigation. He does no investigation. All of the "leads" fall into his lap, they're just characters that bump into him on the street. And then after plot has ordained that he meet this character he asks them stuff.

I believe.....that's how investigations work?, you ask people about stuff and witnesses in such scenes, right?

It's kinda lame regardless..not gonna even defend that...because honestly, I'm not creative enough to know how it should've went...

3. Except he never really does anything to instigate a war. He doesn't challenge Morgana in any way. Surely if she saw him trying to blow up the Org's spot or cause trouble in the church she would play off of it instead of stopping it outright. Her character is set up in her introduction to be wanting to use the MC as a tool. That premise gets thrown away after a fetch quest and a murder mystery. Not really doing a good job of using your tools. He starts shit with the org but the response the org has is totally wacko and makes no sense. 1 guy is your enemy so you put the whole town on lock down? What a waste of resources. Just lay siege to his manor. Theoretically its about the Fey but the status quo in the story so far is that the org already exerts a lot of control over them without the police state aspect being necessary. So they set this up for the MC and not the fey presumably. Then to pile on to this issue showing the org do this makes their shadowy organization status earlier make no sense. If they've had these sorts of resources its hard to buy into the idea that a genocidal group who believes the very fate of mankind is in their hands would be playing spy. Just lock down the city and do a nazi style genocide.

Morgana did kinda give up on making The MC her own tool, but she also still doesn't trust him one bit nor ever will. Her power over him got broke by Pixie when Morgana tried to take away The Artificat once he told her to NOT call Pixie a tool if you can recall. She is so blinded by arrogance and superiority complex towards him. (and everyone in general!) Even Gramps was afraid when talking about her if you can recall.

The guy of The Organization (Clarie's dad) is one of The MC's main enemy, yes, but you should also keep in mind that The Organization's entire purpose is built on hunting down The Fey and protecting mankind. Their Ideology is built on that The Fey is a threat to humanity and they need to be stopped. Since they're in a state of war, protecting everybody by lockdown sounds like the most logical route for them.

An all-out war where The Fey is going haywire and someone like Morgana is their leader is a terrifying thought. The Organization and Morgana did tell The MC that they decided to go for a truce against him, but....they still hate each other. Also who the fuck would trust someone like Morgana to even not to break their lighter while using it out of evil?

Even if they made a siege around The Manor, you think Jessica won't do anything about it?, she has so much potential we are unaware of as an ally AND a high-ranking member of The Organization...The goons she has dealt against during the war were afraid of her as well.

Also if you have played the last updates, you'd find that there's Fey roaming around town freely.

4. You're kinda missing what I am getting at here. 3 Plot lines isn't too much. 3 Plot lines that are written identically is too much. The author dead ended 3 plot lines by having them be functionally the same. Keeping this narrative structure would have gotten stale so the author is forced to do something big to break the status quo. I am saying the author didn't go wrong breaking the status quo, they went wrong when they put the status quo there.

Now I get what you mean. My bad.

5. Yeah my point is that. As an author this format provides you with a restraint. Writing this stuff is a balancing act because the format demands porn but story often is at odds with that. In order for a war arc to be meaningful or even make sense really you'd expect character deaths. Its already established that the author is unwilling to do that so writing a war arc is in itself a mistake.

We shall wait for the story to be finished first to talk about that...

Even if he did make deaths and forced it down our throats, you think nobody would object about it?

Remember the murder mystery?, everybody back then was flaming the dev for not having a way to bring her back....so due to that....here she is back to life!

The solution to that would be making their deaths based on your choices and decisions, I suppose....like some bad route...
