Because Ren'py has a baseline auto-save function built into it that needs to be manually disabled by devs and they don't know why this dev decided to that and are asking to find out?

Seems self-explanatory, really. Oh, and the answer is "because the dev broke it".

Dev disabled it a long time ago because of performance issues. There was a bug when video was playing it would try auto saving constantly every few frames which for potato pcs and phones caused lag. I think Ren'Py Tom fixed it in later revisions but Arc never bothered making that configurable. Quick save was only reintroduced because a fan told him it didn't effect that in any way. Now performance issues caused by "Rich Discord Presence" well that was free advertising so he didn't really want to remove that until there was community backlash.

My point is that I don't trust auto-saves, so I save before leaving *any* game

So how the game going? i used to play it every time the game updated, well till the start of ch3 ,when the deblacle of the combat system started.

Just by seeing the screen shot on the post above i have the feeling that things aren't going well with this project...

So last time I played was around v0.22.2, did much change? read something about changes to act 3's progression so kinda curious Iv lost my original save file so would need to replay the entire thing anyway but wondering if its worth redoing act1-2 to see the act 3 additions or not

also something I wonder is the game's mind control still just a glorified horny beam? I got really annoyed how throughout act 2 it went from an interesting "horny beam/blank beam" into a generic "horny beam but good and horny beam but bad" and I remember act 3 had even less of interesting interactions using the 2 properly.

wait no something feels wrong, I remember the "3d park thing" and the under bridge story but I dont remember any of those other things like the rehab centre actualy having an use or all those mentioned "paper dolls" what the??

Edit: oh fuck was there really no update since like earlier this year? and that one I remember seeing having lot of bugs and glitches. I really assumed there would have been something new since last time.

I just want to emphasize my point of view regarding Gwen and Chloe. I think it's unfair that they aren't rewarded with children as well, given their dedication to the MC.

Well, their dedication being forced with the awaken/shatter notwithstanding, I do agree that since the others you use awaken on still have normal kids, I don't see why they wouldn't have the option too. Although with certain issues with Chloe in act 3, if the option to even have kids becomes available again, it might be a problem with alternate beings that Chloe absorbs becoming factor. You don't want a kid to end up with say, homicidal tendencies bleeding over from the assassin's influence, or causing havoc with Cupid's powers.
Probably wouldn't be a problem, but the concerns of the possibilities are there.

I read the Patreon story, and it's completely unfair. I think if children aren't involved in sexual acts( I know this is not the case with your game ), I don't see why they should be censored. Children themselves are the fruit of the love their parents (mother and father) share.

Let me explain before there is any misunderstanding. When I said: "I think that children who are not in sexual acts (I know that is not the case in your game) I am referring only to the sexual acts of children which in your game is completely out. There are no sexual acts of children in your game. The children in your game show the innocence and happiness only found in normal, healthy children.

IKR? He should just be excited for when the next update with Gwen's baby finally comes out. It's been almost nine months. I hope it doesn't have any deformities or problems with the birth happening. That would be a real shame I hope they have enough money saved up. Diapers can be expensive, even when they're digital!

He come with a major update of UI, as promiced, and it will then take 2 years to correct all the failures, errors and glitches.

Controversially, I think the War Arc is fine and was signposted decently well. Conceptually. However, there probably should be a gallery option to replay scenes you've already unlocked, rather than requiring a save for before and after.

Execution wise though, Arc 3 has not been handled well. The constant barrage of meaningless one night stands with random character with barely a paragraph of backstory, slow updates to main characters being drip fed, not to mention the awful combat system that we all know is bad. Obligatory UI bad comment. I didn't forget that part.

But the idea of going to war and fighting and sacrificing to create a world free from shadowy cabals, demonic horrors, and magical bureaucracy is appealing to me. The level of stakes makes me more invested in the outcome of the story, the reason I play games instead of just using videos or images for my H content. Pure Sex-Pussy-Fuck-Blast doesn't do it for me. I need some characters to care about. Arcgames has written many characters I like, from Jessica to Pixie to Kana.

Which is why its all the more baffling that he focused on creating dozens of girls that are only featured in a single scene. I remain hopeful we'll get a good update one day and the game will be concluded.

But I'm not holding my breath. This is the third or fourth game of its ilk that has fallen into this pattern I've found on this site. If they do get updated, great. In the meantime, I'll continue to watch with zero realistic expectations that the situation will change.
