some conjecture on the development of the game from someone with no authority on the matter:
story can always be pushed out, he's probably just fleshing out the game as a whole so that when everything is in place he can just dump out actual story content.
adding features is way harder to do than say, animating and designing characters or writing dialogue.
if you don't know how game dev works : alpha is when you put in all the features, because features will break other features. you don't even really bug fix during alpha. this is where a game goes "wide".
beta is when your game is how it'll look when the game is complete, no more new features so when you squash bugs they stay squashed for good. you polish the game here, pretty it up, and you start putting in the "length" of a game.
once you're out of beta, you release.
so this game would be considered "alpha", he's adding dates, adding magic powers, making sure traits work, we barely got to explore outside of each demense recently, the children are getting added, holidays appear every so often. chloe is the most complex character due to her personality thing so she gets like 6 times the dialogue due to variations so i'm not surprised her date isn't out yet, gwen's yandere thing has to be balanced but it's probably a headache to try to balance the time management on that when most of the "features" that are being added would directly fudge overall in-game time management when you keep the yandere trait turned on (you can't just expect players to manage an invisible ticking timer or to spend 1 of our 3 precious time slots per day on just gwen).
this is ALL conjecture though, i can't say for certain if any of this is the reality of the dev. i've never even messaged the guy.
