I think the redneck scene was useful because it showed us more about the characters.
Sister Mary stood up for herself and even decked him when he tried to manhandle her. So she's not just a meek little mouse that won't defend herself. If she does anything lewd or whatever, it's because she decided to do it, she wasn't forced.
Yeah the redneck was fine for me. I was more rebutting the idea that a slow burn game should have no porn at all in it for several hours of gameplay, which is contrary to good design philosophy.
Generally speaking, whether porn or not, you want the game to begin with what it's going to be focusing on. If you're making a Doom/Wolfenstein-esque B-movie shooter it should start with plenty of shooting and cheesy badass dialogue. If you're making a comedic puzzle game it should start with some simple puzzles and funny one-liners. If you're making a deep, ponderous introspective story-heavy Visual Novel it should begin by raising a lot of deep questions and giving the player some choices to pick.
And if it's gonna be about fuckin', it should start with screwin'.
For bonus points combine all of them and begin the game with a cheesy badass contemplative monologue from the MC while he solves puzzles and delivers funny one-liners to the girl sucking him off under the table. :V
