CoC2=DbD... Both developers live on their own planet. Though I have yet to see COC2 use Hockey references to defend their bullshit.

even if you look at this game from the furry perspective its a giant disappointment. even tho the game may have a number of anthro/semi-anthro chars that look actually attractive. The writing torpedos the good will extremely quickly (the foxden even tho I may like some of the art really needs to be surgically removed like the tumor it is.)

Why is this game still getting 5 star reviews...........
It's like any score based review, take it with a grain of salt. The overall rating for this game is actually fairly accurate IMO, slightly above average seems about right especially in context of the average game on f95 and it's kinda funny it reached that through a combination of unearned praise and over the top hatred.

The kitsune are kitsune first and anything else, second. I think that's really the long and short of it. It wouldn't surprise me if every conversation with them was related to the den or kitsune adjacent. It really contrasts with, for example, Garrett. Where the text treats him as occassionally impressive but also goofy.

Perfectly balanced as all things should be.

Well, what can you do with turn-based combat to be honest? The combat should be the weakest point of an RPG, for RPGs are about story and characters. Ideally, there should be a large helping of player choice to go along with it.
Its a perspective thing.Even if you consider TBC boring you can agree that CoC2s is badly designed. Its not about if you like TBC its about how badly designed the games TBC is.

False. As an avid RPG player, I couldn't disagree with this more. If the combat and the systems associated with it are bad, then that reflects poorly on the game. People who go "it's an RPG who cares about combat" are the same as people who let Bethesda get away with releasing unpolished crap using a decrepit engine.

You're still on timeline 2. We split in timeline theta ages ago.
Achieving bland experienced isn't embraced by the public for Bethesda anymore. Everybody rags on them including the formerly paid journalists.
They still sold pretty big numbers through starfield.

There are many many many games with good turn based combat. We're 3 decades in to games with good turn based combat. Naturally people that don't like turn based fights will never warm into them, but turn-based combat isn't bad because it's turn based. Turn based combat can be bad when it's designed poorly.

I...what? There's plenty of brilliant, in-depth combat system RPGs that I play for the sole sake of its combat as they have shit stories. Shin Megami Tensei is the biggest example I know. Or hell, fucking Pokemon. Nobody plays Pokemon for amazing story.

I do agree that expecting deep combat from a porn game is too much though. It's not the point of the game.

Doesn't matter what the reviews look like now, they already cashed in their cheques, same with Fallout 76. Bethesda should've been put through the wringer ever since Fallout 4, but they have plenty of sugar daddies out in the open supporting the habit.

Gonna have to disagree with you there chief. Bethesda still has assloads of soyboys who defend their garbage. Starfield also had a very positive at launch and still made them millions so regardless of if people rag on them, people are still eating up the slop they shovel out.

It's not uncommon for porn games to at least try with their combat systems.
There's the typicals that people sape on like Alchemy Meister, Sengoku Rance, and recently Flip Witch. But there's also MGQ Paradox, Succubus Affection, half of Libra Hearts roster, Shrift, EMM's games, etc.

Generally though they're aim for not being obtrusive. CoC2 has the encounter rate of Majin Tensei without being even 2% as interesting or deep. You cap out on xp and money becomes meaningless while random encounters will give you literally nothing worthwhile so what in the world is the encounter rate doing being so high?

and still made them millions so regardless
Honestly I wasn't expecting to live in a reality where I regretted a purchase more than I regretted buying Brink but here we are.

If I'm going to be realistic, whatever E6 ends up being is also going to be overhyped garbage. And it's also going to print money.

I actually had a convo about this before. The guy was essentially saying "Well why are bethesda games, the AC series and other such games getting 5 star reviews and why are people buying them if they are,as you say shit games?".Its simple really. What is selling is not the game itself, its the name.Nobody that wasnt lobotomized would say with a straight face that he thinks Fallout76 or any of the latest AC games were good.No.They buy them because it is an AC game, because it is a fallout game.Whats selling is the name not the game itself.Fucking sovelware man i swear.

That's my point, dude. If anything should be the weak point in an RPG, it's the combat. The focus of an RPG should be the story and characters. Combat is ancillary.

Sure, you might play an RPG that has shit story and fun combat, but that's missing the point of an RPG, yeah? It might as well be some other genre of game at that point.

No false, just your opinion. To give an example of what I mean, Fallout: New Vegas has terrible combat, but it has a great story and characters, as well as tons of player freedom. That' what makes it a good RPG, as well as a good game.

Is there any way to disable the save edit message? Being punished by the devs (not even for the player's benefit) for changing the lip color from black to peach is damn annoying. What's worse is it's a design oversight that hasn't been addressed since the game's inception (complemented by the lacking color selection for a variety of body parts and makeup in general, not to mention all the unused remnants from TiTS seen in the save editor in a game that touts it's customization ability (there's not even an option to be a Nekomata in the save editor, brah.)) Even worse is there's a post on the Fen Forums themselves asking the same thing from years ago, shows how much the devs care about the playerbase, even back then. Sheesh this went off topic.
