It's not "liking one more than other". This threa consists mostly of people complaining about everything that is wrong with CoC2.
This indicates that TiTS is overall doing better than CoC2, simply by virtue of there being way less people complaining that something is wrong with TiTS.

Oh they still complain over there but just not on our level. I feel like they just kind of accept that TiTS hasn't released any meaningful updates in ages. Like for instance a lot of them over there have been talking about how riya and the person who wrote them is a nazi

A random question for peeps, why does the CoC2 thread have more than double the posts of the TiTS thread even though it was posted 2 years after?

I play both and like both for different reasons but I'm curious why a lot of people seem to like one more than the other.

I'd argue that it's because only one of them is a sequel. CoC2 carries the name of a decent title that was carried to better standards of fun by mods so when something goes awry on it, it's also trying to yank the previous one down a bit.

Another thing that comes to mind is the thread itself. People's posts push the game to the top of the index, which makes others to find it, download and then maybe add their two cents which isn't that hard since CoC2 is quite easy to talk (and complain) about. I suppose that technically means we're advertising it.

I'll also echo Walk Cycle's statement, doubt most of us like it. We just give it a bit of time because it's funny to follow it.

Finally Mayternity is over, good-fucking-riddance if I have to read how another "can knock the PC up" update in a row I'm gonna fall asleep, oh well at least a whole bunch of quests are being made for the next updates (also I'm assuming they mean Leothrans when they say Snow-Cats, so that's good.)

The highlight of this changelog is that Savin picked up tob's habit of slapping 'saccharine' into anything. Only i'm not sure he knows what the word means cause going "this update is filled with saccharine sweetness" is like saying this game is full of shitty shitness.

I'm looking at the new changelog and out of those 6 bullet points, 3 of them are about the same thing (Tarah), 2 are about Aileh + dababy, and then text fixes. Update seems flaccid.
