I wouldn't go as far as call tobs a hack. He's just aiming too high with his writing and fails in 2 regards: 1) I don't think he is at the skill level where he can do the type of character writing he's aiming for and he is using drama and tragedy as crutches; 2) He's trying to do it in a text based porn game;

Yeah, that's basically my take on him. His writing feels very fan-fiction-y to me and I don't mean that as a shot. It literally feels like some of the higher quality work I've seen published on AO3 and FanFiction.net, and has a lot their conventions for good and ill. Chiefly is his habbit of referring to characters by some physical characteristic to freshen up the text (even if that pulls the reader out of the story), word bloat where he spends multiple sentences to say something that could be described in a couple words, and of course an overindulgence in drama and tragedy.

Still, I can't fault his work ethic, even if on some level I'm concerned that he's content being a big fish in a small pond rather than actually improving his craft.

This is why echo chambers are bad because you can never improve when everyone is a fucking yes man towards you. If Savin was a competent project leader he would have a strict vision on the product and pull the reigns on people stepping out of line.

I should've been a bit more specific, I said he LIKES (maybe I should have gone with ''likens himself to'' instead) to be that, I wasn't trying to complement him but was rather stating the obvious, since he always says something to the effect of ''if I pissed people off I'm doing my job right'' and so forth.

Hey, the hobgoblins may be cheating bastards who fight your party of 3 with a party of 8-9 (seriously did Savin give a reason why that 4th slot is reserved for guests/summons, I can only think of a couple FF games that normalized 3 party members) and the imps may have been overturned because the warlock and shank make them hp sponges that like to deal resolve damage.
But we can all laugh at the oversight that since there are only 2 encounters, you have a very high chance of running into Gianna's Caravan. I thought it was funny that these three thought they'd find customers in an ice wasteland but now they now somehow managed get into the undermountains before you did, during a Quarantine.

I've seen some negative reactions to kitsune stuff /tobs stuff on fen forums. Most recently it was in a thread addressed to players who only play female bodied characters, about how they felt about the Mayternity content (it almost got derailed when someone brought up Kinu, as this thread frequently does ). The only difference is they seem to be nice about their dislike of kiyoko/kinu. Either cuz they're actually nice or to avoid Tobs jumping in to preach about his work being amazing because it's so divisive.

I usually try to be nice, I just can't stand that Tobs is consistently allowed to make such one-sided content in what should be a power fantasy text-based porn game. Wouldn't it be better to give the player options? The fact that you need a dick (magical or real) and have to "impregnate" Kiyoko to get her out of the orb and into the game or you completely miss out on probably the companion with the most written scenes (possibly tying with Cait) is bonkers. If Kiyoko didn't have so much content that then breeded (ha) more content via Kinu, I'd be like whatever. But there's a whole section of the game players who don't want to give their chars dicks and be the sexual aggressors, are just locked out of.

Not to mention (as has previously been said in this thread) his consistent writing of the player as an incompetent, bumbling fool. Even his writing that I am able to access just makes me feel unsatisfied. The male kitsune that roams with a group (not Hinata), the birdlike male in the ice zone, and even Keros approach sex with the player in such a detached, I-kind-of-like-this-but-i'm-kind-of-disgusted way that I get no enjoyment out of those sex scenes. I cannot understand who that shit is written for.

And Savin's cool with that. I assume it's because Tobs did a shit ton of writing for free, so you can't really tell the guy much since he could just say "I don't want to write that."

I guess. He almost reminds me of Yandere dev with how he is making things out of spite to prove something. With the work he puts in he could easily surpass the other writers but Savin has 0 vision for this so it is all over the place.

So I really wouldn't call this NTR I think it even implies that she's traumatized at the end? I don't think it goes that far but I can't find a better word currently, it definitely does not imply at all that she liked it. Though now that I read I wonder if this can get her pregnant probably not, though I'm not going to test it.

Have you tried Elyon? I think a lot of people like him. Even I liked him, even tho I am not really into non rapy sub stuff.

But when it comes to Kiyoko, besides what you said, the biggest problem is how it feels like she is focused more on the dick than on the champion. Does not help that magic strap on is just a removable dick, so I do not see really like it. I though I could use it to get Kiyoko when playing as female, but it felt to weird.

But yeah, Kiyobro me want. I think I saw some fanart of him.

I joke I joke, but yeah, I would like if we at least had one decent kitsune husbando. Kazuo, Hitoshi and Nakano (fuck you all he is misunderstood and cute) are all not avalide so we really do not have options. Oh I guess there is Takahiro, but I am 99 percent sure that his quest is just him getting married to that white kitsune. And I am not sure if anyone considers him husbando material to begin with.

You need Kiyoko freed and Miko to be impregnated then...

keep pounding Miko until she is ultra pregs and make sure Kiyoko is preg for about a day or two

Estimate -
look in resources\app\resources\bitmaps\fulls at miko preg 3 and 4 pics. if I remember those are the ones where you can select the scene if Kiyoko has been pregs for a couple of days. The latter is still hard to tell especially she's a 9 tails.

TL : DR
CoC1 has less text, more options, friendlier mod support and better character development (YMMV). While some elements are hardcore, most of the follower / lover content requires some work and is relatively tame.

CoC2 still feels like a cleaner medieval fantasy TiTS and while a good standalone game, most of its content I would describe as e^verbose or exponentially verbose for non-math people. The content is also significantly more hardcore and you really don't have to do much to persuade a companion / guest to bang you.

Look no further than the forums for each and what people talk about. CoC1 from memory is a lot more friendly and creative. CoC2's is fairly polarizing if you don't agree with the devs.

Note: I understand both are still in development, but look at the bigger picture here. CoC1 had much less support and budget with arguably more developed content and story. CoC2's budget is massive with tons of support and we JUST got to 0.4.0
